Can I do nMA while I have a vMA run active without the progress resetting?

I am currently in arena 9 in vMA and kinda stuck at the last boss, in the meantime, I would like to do nMA. Will switching to normal reset the progress I have made in vMA?

that's incorrect, you can have both instances at the same time, on the quest journal you will see Veteran Maelstrom Arena and Maelstrom Arena as different quests.3 -

I have now run normal about 8-9 times, while in parallel maintaining the standing vet quest I already had going - still at level 6.

This as the saving of progress is connected to the quest.0
