jumping has no effect it does not take you out of damage, eso works on magic bullet, as long as some one is in ur cross hairs the attack will go for them, only way to avoid them is to dodge roll

Yes it does - it makes you more difficult to target, especially up close with melee attacks. That's why people do it. So there should be a cost for doing it.

Unlike previous TES games (and I made a similar post a few days ago which appears to have been deleted) where the acrobatics skill could be used to manipulate height, direction, and distance of your jump, and even allowed mid-air manoeuvring and airtime manipulation, thus a fully usable combat mechanism for mitigation and avoidance, no such combat mechanic exists in ESO. Your hit box is massive and as long as the crosshairs are on a you at the time a skill is triggered (unless you're talking about light attacks, people can side step around melee light attacks, should steps cost stamina?), it will impact. Unless ZOS build in a new enhanced mechanic around jumping with dedicated CP stars as per dodge/block/bash for cost reduction, and enhancements to unlock movement and manipulate height and distance so that it can actually be used as a means for mitigation, it doesn't require a cost.

...you'll take damage from any ground AoE (both player placed and NPC placed) even if you jump 1000 times

    COMPLETELY WRONG!

Get on a rock, then I place Caltrops on ground level in front of you and the rock. From the rock, jump forward pass the Caltrops. You get NO damage from the caltrops on the ground.

TESTED! So saying that YOU GET DAMAGE even when jumping is 100% wrong!

Yes, obviously if you are in the crosshairs you get hit. But the point is that jumping up and down like a rabbit makes it more difficult to put them in the crosshairs, especially up close. So since it makes you more difficult to target, there should be a cost for doing it. Simples. Sprinting costs stam, why not jumping?

Sometimes in this game, you get stuck in such a way that jumping is the only way you can escape.

that makes total sense. You didn't get damage there because you weren't on the same plane as the AoE, not because you jumped.

If i'm on the second floor of a building, and the first floor is wet..do I need to worry about slipping up on the second floor? XD
