Ancient Orc Motif Chapter drop rate

Anyone else having issues with the Ancient Orc motif chapter drop rates in the public dungeons? I've killed every boss loads ofntimes for the last 3 days and several hours lime 5 or more per day and I still only have 2 chapters. Anyone got any tips or tricks to help or know the drop rate for them?

✭✭✭✭✭Are you talking about the two public dungeons in Wrothgar? The drops seem rare, but they do happen-- although they can drop from enemies other than just the bosses, so kill everything and everyone, and loot every corpse and container.
Just a note, you can get leads for Ancient Orc motif drops in the Antiquities. Last night I was scrying and excavating green and blue leads in Rivenspire, trying to level up so I could start scrying purple leads, and I found a green lead for the Ancient Orc Daggers motif and a blue lead for the Ancient Orc Something-or-Other motif (I want to say shoulders, but don't remember for sure).
EDIT-- MY BAD. It's actually Ancestral Orc motif pages that drop in Antiquities, not Ancient Orc. And it was shoulders that I found in Rivenspire last night.Edited by SeaGtGruff on June 18, 2020 8:50PMI've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!1 -
Aisleyne✭✭✭✭✭Sadly, I have no actual advice for you other than not to bother. I also wanted to farm them myself at one point, but can confirm the drop rates for them are ridiculously low. Unfortunately, you'd be much better off spending that time on anything else you have to work on and buying them. The Anniversary event completely saturated the market and their prices are still only a fraction of what they had been.Edited by Aisleyne on June 18, 2020 9:32PM4 -

✭✭✭✭✭You can definitely get them from the two PDs, but yes they're rare. A year or 2 ago I had a master writ for an Ancient Orc Sword, so I was grinding for that page. As luck would have it, I managed to find that page and 1 or 2 others, and it didn't take as much grinding as I thought, but it did take several days.
It's actually worse to grind for all of those fragments for pets and other collectibles, because once you find 3 or 4 different fragments the odds of finding the exact ones you still need start to go down-- you just have a higher likelihood of finding more of the ones you already have.
But yes, buying stuff is much better than grinding for it. Thank goodness there are players who like to sell everything they find!I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!0 -

✭There is a cool down on the drops in those dungeons. If you receive a page, then leave and return after 24 hrs as you will no longer have any drop chance after the first. ✭✭✭✭I send all my characters through the public dungeons once they hit 50 for some skill points and the last three characters (recently; 2 since the drop of Greymoor) that have done both PDs finished the quests and all the bosses without ever getting a motif. I have better luck with the pet fragments from any of the other dungeons - just getting a fragment, mind you, not necessarily one I need. ✭✭✭✭✭Like I said, the motif pages don't drop from just the bosses. If you try to bypass the smaller enemies and MOBs so you can focus on just the bosses, your chances of getting a drop are going to go down simply due to the smaller number of kills.
I don't know about the 24-hour thing; I don't remember if I ever got more than one page per visit, but I usually left after making a complete pass through the dungeon.
When I was farming the kitten pet in Summerset I would make multiple passes through the dungeon, and I think (but am not certain) that I did get more than a single fragment once or twice when doing that.
And in Vvardenfell when I was farming for the pet and the outfit I believe I also got more than a single fragment once or twice when making multiple passes through the respective dungeons.
But I don't know whether the public dungeons in Wrothgar are similar in that respect.I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!0 -

✭✭✭✭✭Ancient Orc? I gave up trying to get that one from drops. And i spent days in the public dungeons in Wrothgar back when experience was HUGE. I got 2 of them there.
I got mine during one of those 2 week events where they have Crafting Dailies. Drops, Trades and Guild Stores were the source.Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
