Old Player thinking of returning

I quit ESO back when Scalebreaker came out, mostly because I got tired of all the damn nerfs, especially to niche playstyles (werewolf especially).

But I've been curious on coming back and my question is how is the game now? Are they still nerfing everything? Any major changes to any class/werewolf/vampire I should be aware of? I know they fiddled with vamps a bit but IDK to what extent.
Hoping for more playable races

There were significant changes to vamp, patch notes or some videos would give you a probably more concise look at how far.

Apparently WW got a boost and of course sets are never set in stone as it were ;)

Server stabilization is.....iffy depending on zone / time of day you are playing.

If you like to PvP at all, stay away. Server performance is hot garbage and ZOS says that thing are "holding up fine" whenever asked about it.

Thankfully I am PVE only, but got tired of everything getting nerfed, it was depressing and made it hard to really play seriously.

IMO, I would probably just move on unless you plan on playing super casually. Performance in PvE is getting pretty bad as well. You'll get burned out pretty quick.

Nothing wrong with old players, I know several in their 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, etc. But I think they’ll find the same old problems as before, with a few new ones thrown in.

I am trying to think of something that is better than before, but coming up empty, sorry.

Of course, this probably isn't the best place to get an unbiased opinion. Official forums mainly inhabited by people who like to moan (very much including me).

Give it a try. You have already bought the game so it won't cost you anything to have a go.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

There's a fair bit of complaining on the forum but don't let that put you off. Everyone has their own point of view but well worth coming back. I have tried the new vampire and it's a lot of fun to play. Things change but you can always find ways to make them work.

I expect things to get nerfed even more, they seem to have no clue how to sort the performance issues within the game so i foresee lots of 'dumbing' down of skills, particle effects and whatever they can lay their hands on to increase the hamster rate.

Greymoor has both a peaceful setting to beautiful, with the deep vibrant colors of the harrowstorms. For questing I think you will like this new zone.

    The world events are entertaining.
The new Antiquities System is odd but simplistic, giving some rewarding items.

PvP for me is now way to easy. It has lost a lot of the enjoyment it once gave, coupled with performance issues.

For vampires, things got changed up quite a bit, not so well in many cases. In PvE vampires are not much of an issue depending on your stage. In PvP it can be very potent on some niche builds.

WWs are happily enjoying some nice buffs tbh. Which in turn, has allowed for some powerful builds in both PvP and PvE.

I would say it is worth playing Greymoor if you like eso!! :)

I am very happy to hear that about werewolves! It was my favorite playstyle and I have like 7 WW characters.
I don't own Greymoor, but I think I will get back into the groove, probably make some new characters before I delve back into my old ones.

As far as werewolves go, they are still a shell of their former Wolfhunter selves. And the pounce animation has been completely ruined, it's almost comical how they slowly leap high into the air and come down a few feet away, like Crash Bandicoot. I refunded all my werewolf skill points on all my lycanthropic characters.

I hope you still find enjoyment in the playstyle.... I just couldnt.

Sorry to say this, but don't. I've done the same mistake and pretty much quit instantly.

Performance is still a *** show, lots of nerfs and balance decisions that make 0 sense, ZOS seemingly not having any F to give anymore, classes feel so generic without any real identity.

The story isn't even that great, seems like a heavily adjusted copy&paste from last year.

Vamp turned out kinda nice i guess but that's about it. Oh and PvP is about the worst I've seen since launch if you want to actually be viable. You sort feel forced into a couple good builds and that's it.

False. I have been on the forums for 5 years (legit got my 5 year anniversary badge today) and I have been happy with ESO praising the game for most of that time. However, I posted MUCH more back when I was happy with the game. Not less.

ESO is objectively facing severe issues which did not used to exist.

    Some of these include:
    • Rapidly deteriorating game performance. Confirmed by ZOS (who rarely ever admits mistakes) feeling the urge to push forth a public “Performance Improvement Plan”..... which has utterly failed and made the game perform far worse than back when this Plan was originally introduced.
    • Unpopular game balance decisions. Confirmed by an off-cycle LA+HA rebalancing PTS which faced overwhelming backlash based on *player feedback*, causing it to never launch on the Live server. I could also link tons of threads with overwhelmingly negative balance change feedback and polls with hundreds of votes at 85%+ disapproval rating which are totally ignored unlike that off-cycle PTS.
    • In terms of Greymoor, gameplay performance on console (where I play) is noticeably declined from Harrowstorm, which is confirmed by every single player I have heard from or played with as well. And if I compare Greymoor to an old patch like Homestead, the gameplay performance and stability used to be immensely smoother.

These discussions are shared across the official ESO forums, Reddit, popular Youtube channels, Discord, and even in-game chats. We used to all argue over whether Mag Sorcs or Mag NBs are more OP in PvP..... now all anyone can talk about is crippling game performance because it’s slowly ruining a truly amazing game.

Maybe If "some" certain people behind the game stepped off their high horses and actually for real dedicated their time and to what the community has been wanting for years, the game still would've been off just fine.

If there is anything this game will be remembered for in the history books it’s pvp, when it works, bgs are usually not laggy and the non main campaigns, it’s the best thing this game has going for it. I suggest giving it a shot
