OK, so I'm doing master writs and I ASSUMED I had this motif...but no.
Done dailies in Murkmire numerous times and have the other motifs but not this one. NP I thought, look in Tam Traders and find one for sale...nothing and nothing for a week. Tried the guild stores in Murkmire for a week or so and still nothing. Does this motif EVER drop? It's getting to be a problem as the Blacksmithing leg of my master writs is effectively blocked by this writ and I really don't want to delete the writ. Any advice please?

Aisleyne✭✭✭✭✭I've just done the same search and found tons of them. Is it possible you were doing the search for "battle" axes? Both the two-handed and one-handed version fall under the same chapter for this motif so you should only be searching "Elder Argonian Axes"1 -

✭Try the guild stores in the capital cities like Mournhold, Wayrest, Elden Root, etc. The traders there typically handle a much larger volume of merchandise, and as @Aisleyne mentioned, make sure you're just looking for the "Axes" motif chapter as that includes both 1-handed and 2-handed (battleaxe) variants.Feric51
