Anyone recommend solo stamblade sets?

hungrymagpie
Hey! Looking for some a simple build to use for Questing, world bosses and solo activities.

Looked at both alcast build

https://alcasthq.com/eso-solo-stamina-nightblade-build-pve/

And Dottzgaming

https://dottzgaming.com/build/gloom-solo-stamina-nightblade-build/

I’m currently using 5 x Relequen 5 x Lokkestiiz 2 x Selene/Velidreth

But I’m really squishy when on my own, unlike my magsorc and magplar that are like godz in solo play.

But looking for any advice to help my solo nightblade to finish off completing the zones

Thanks

Rele is kinda bad in solo play. (U don't get enough stacks on anything) Lokke too(no one is giving you synergies). As for sets? Any aoe setup probably, tzogvin/ay paired with briarheart?

Would totally recommend 2 handed weapon frontbar for solo though, rally+ brawler can make you easily very tanky.

I had very similar experiences. I only got comfortable soloing on my stamblade when he donned Briarheart and unlocked Vigor. And his DW bar always features Bloodthirst.

When I go bow/bow, I can still get into trouble.

Also: In most overland content, there are trash mobs, and in those cases Reaper's Mark can be a very strong heal.

All that said: The numbers on Briarheart aren't looking very impressive these days.

How about good old Vicious Ophidian?

Can't really get around Rally + Vigor, although Bloodthirst + Blood Craze are good options, the former especially for triggering Briarheart. Nothing wrong with including Troll King, though will be nerfed momentarily. I think I did vMA with DW + bow on my stamblade in the past. Must have been relying on Troll King, Vigor and Blood Craze, as I'm quite sure I was using pre-nerf Shrouded Daggers instead of Bloodthirst.

Someone challenged me to use a pure Psijic build. I did that on my stamblade. You can see the result of going into vMA with that here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fT0T7PzHc3I

In that case I used Crushing Weapon, supplemented by Troll King and Cyrodiil's Crest on the back bar for a burst heal. Build is at the end of the video. Of course it's a joke build, but it illustrates that you just need to stack some heals, whatever the sources.

There's another build pattern I sometimes use: Steed mundus, gold food, Seventh Legion back bar (Mirage would trigger it on NB). It adds up to over 2K health regen when fully buffed with something like a tri-stat potion. NB regen passives come into play too, probably.

Decent solo options coming to mind first are vicious ophidian paired with twice fanged snake or briarheart depending if you need a heal on top of vigor/blood craze/flurry/leeching etc or not.
VO offering best mobility and sustain. TFS gives best solo dps boost with extra penetration, probably can swap it out for crafted new moon's acolyte easily if paired with VO.
Backbar you can either go bow or dw this patch with introduction of new brp dw (can get one even in normal also) which forces you to run blade cloak which is very potent dot and also defensive.

Not sure if you have the Maelstrom Bow, but if not (like me), I still run VO (as mentioned above) with Leviathan. I’d run TFS if I had all the pieces, but I haven’t been on in ages.

    PvE only, khajit.

    The more things change.......

Hundings rage and Spriggans works for pretty much everything when you are a newbie.

Are you talking about the quest zones or soloing dungeons and world bosses?
For quest zones just using the damage shield morph (brawler) from the 2 hander cleave skill should see you through most content. Also the Bahrara's Curse set is very good for survivability though not a high dps set. Comes in light, medium and heavy.

5-piece sets (pick 2): Briarheart, Hunding's Rage, Night Mother's Gaze, Vicious Ophidian, Spriggan's Thorns
Monster Set (pick 1): Kragh, Selene, Velidreth, Iceheart, Slimecraw

I run Iceheart, Briarheart & VO and I can solo base game normal dungeons, 90% of world bosses, complete all Craglorn quests & objectives, as well as vMA.

For solo overland stuff and certain levels of maelstrom arena mobs have a low resistance, like 9000 or so. Just keep it in mind if you have a lot of piercing CP and have major fracture from Caltrops, or a sharpened weapon, or penetration set bonus, then spriggan can be redundant.

Minor Slayer from trial sets has no effect overland, and things could die really quickly if you just build for it, so sustain wouldn't be much of an issue, unless maybe when soloing some world bosses. VO helps with sustain in long fights and arenas. New moon acolyte works out fine for a Nightblade, leeching strikes fixes sustain issues.

Yeah, that is pretty much straight glass cannon gear. My Stamblade is my farmer/crafter. If I could change my crafter to another class, I probably would, as stamblade is a subpar class for soloing stuff.

I am actually tinkering with a new setup for her. What I am doing is back-barring Briarheart, and front barring Vicious ophidian. I am combining with Veledrith and Ring of the Hunt. This basically ensures that I proc briaheart when I load up ground dots (heal and damage), I am always at speed cap with Hunt ring and VO, Veledrith is still the best Stam set IMO for trash fights (which is most of overland). On a NB, you really need to have vigor for some heals. I typically run DW on front bar, but 2H is certainly a better option for survival.

Another option that might be better than you think on a NB is to actually go Bow/Bow. That is how I first got flawless on a stamblade. It allows for a bit of kiting if you need to and if you build correctly, the damage is there.

No matter what you do, you will not find soloing as easy on a stamblade as you do mag sorc or mag templar. Mageblade is right up there as well for ease of soloing, but not stamina.

I have an earthquake setup, Sellistrix, Pillar of Nirn and Vicious Serpent that stuns and has movement reduction that holds mobs in place. You can use Titanborn in place of Nirn if you want more damage but it doesn`t hold the mobs as good, it is good for delves, dolmens and pledges. Very fun setup for solo.
