Already been said but 2-3 weeks for bugfixes post-Chapter launch is too long

The Elder Scrolls Online v6.0.7 is a patch to prep for tomorrow’s launch on Stadia, and doesn’t include any public-facing fixes. There is a small download required, which is approximately 103MB. We are still planning for the next incremental patch with game fixes to be published on Monday, June 29.

What about all those Antiquities that are broken and haven't dropped for any player at all since PTS? The random loading screens walking around Craglorn? I was hoping to start Greymoor after a big fix patch but it'll be nearly a month old by then.

The decision to hold everything back (on PC) to launch Stadia boggles my mind, especially if this will be an ongoing thing in the future...

Yah, agreed. I wouldn't mind if these antiquities that haven't dropped at all since PTS got a little bit higher drop rate now. It's been three weeks soon and nothing, and as far as we know no fix either.

They honestly should've waited to launch the Stadia and fix these bugs first. Whoever made that call seriously made the wrong one. "But the game is growing!" And? With a borked launch to start with and people are still unable to complete the main quest it amazes me that this stuff wasn't fixed week one. And now we're waiting until the 29th to even remotely see some of these fixes? Someone is clearly hitting the skooma hard this month.

Unfortunately, new customers are always a ton more important for businesses that the old ones for some reason.
Don't know about other countries but in Russia if you look at mobile/internet providers plans or special offers from banks there's often some really juicy deal for a new customer but if you've been with them for 10+ years - nobody cares.
I suspect that's some "effective management" burp where they see big "new people this year" numbers and think themselves successful and just ignore how many old people left to be someone else's loved "new client".

I've felt like my performance has gotten worse the faster my internet connection has gotten over a couple of upgrades. It makes me wonder if I need a new fridge to play properly.

I guess you've never worked remotely, due to my work/locations, I have to remote log in all the time, its slower, cumbersome talking to several severs and I get dropped several times a day. I can't imagine working on codes and 3rd party software remotely, so yea....I'll give them a break.

When they have lots of maintenance - "OMG, why is this constantly down, just let us play!"
When they don't have lots of maintenance - "OMG, why aren't they fixing the game!"

(And on the Stadia thing - there just might be a contract with Google, that requires them to hit certain deadlines. Or might not. We don't know. I'd also bet that a different tech team has been working on that project.)

...I have no idea why anyone would want to play an MMO on Stadia. Or any other MP game affected by lag.

Same here in the US. We've had DirecTV since 1994 (as we aren't able to get "real" tv any more than "real" broadband), and exactly TWICE in all those years, they've given us something - first time was when the receiver died just under the second year we'd had it: they gave us a new one instead of charging us $150 for it; second time was when the account card that has to be in the receiver for the system to work developed a problem (how does that even happen if you never take it OUT of the receiver?) and they sent us a new one FEDEx overnight saving us $40.

We get offers all the time from Dish Network, but they don't have plans available here that include the major network channels unless you pay a LOT more than DirecTV charges us - because according to their "service map", where we live is in an "antenna coverage" area. Well, we can't get the major channels with antenna, because there's a 10k foot mountain between us and the broadcasting location. So *shrug* - DirecTV it is.

Same stuff with the propane companies, banks, car dealerships.... Yup.

No, it is not enough of this excuse. You might be tired of hearing about it, but it is still valid. I expect that it will cause more than a 1 week delay in the 3rd Quarter dungeon update, and possibly also a delay in the 4th Quarter story update.

Back on subject, even without COVID-19, someone should have stopped the Stadia launch until a point in July. After 6 years, everyone at ZOS should know that they need more than one patch following an Update, and with this work from home going on, that is not likely to be shorter. Stadia release should have been at a more stable point in the release plan.

We used to get weekly bugfixes for like a month on new chapter releases in the past. This time ZoS has done the bare minimum to get this game into a running state after the chapter release and since then invested all their resources into preparing for the Stadia release. Now we will get the first bugfix patch one month after they released this buggy mess and [snip] we probably need to wait another month until most of the more obvious issues are ironed out.

Not always the case. Family situations and other things become a higher priority.

I reckon the reason why the next patch, which has the bug fixes are delayed, is because stadia release comes out tomorrow. Next patch cycle is two weeks away, or another further week of testing of code before update the week after.

No point fixing bugs now for PC not having it ready for stadia and then keeping that off the same cycle.

The devs? Yes, I'm absolutely sure they're doing their best. I'm equally sure they're not calling the shots. It's very doubtful it was their decision to launch Greymoor with only one weeks delay and then so soon before Stadia launch which would mean not being able to do bug fixes for nearly a month.
But someone did, probably one or more Suits. Those I'm not going to cut any slack at all and when I yelling at ZOS those are the people I'm yelling at, though I doubt they'll ever see.

My comments are directed similarly, however, it is a mistake to assume they will never see them. The whole "we are ignored" thing around here is mainly just because people talk to ZOS but no one answers, so people assume (incorrectly) that no one heard.

Blame ESO's new master, Google.

Must get Google's approval for everything now that ESO is going to Stadia.

Zos has done similar before. While they still did patches to fix some stuff Zos pulled most resources away from the PC/Mac servers and pretty much ceased development of new content for the game for an entire year to port the game to consoles. It did not seem like a very bright decision as many players left shortly after Zos announced this hiatus from working on the game itself. Very few of them came back. It had to hurt.

The worst thing about this is that a key component of the game is straight up broken on consoles - fencing stolen goods. I'm normally fine with patches being spread apart as it helps ensure quality, but when something this significant is broken - and it was known it was going to be broken back from PTS - for this not to be fixed is Fallout 76 level of %^*^$ up.
