Question on MagDK

Hey guys, i am a returning player, been away a year and half. Plus i switched platforms... What is the best quick setup for MagDK dps just to get started again. Which 2 main sets? Julianos, Mothers Sorrow, BSW which is super easy to farm? Or is there new quick setup i can farm? Thanks

✭✭✭✭✭My magDK uses Law of Julianos, Spell Strategist, and a monster helm that I change out depending on the situation. There are better set combinations out there like Elemental Succession and Burning Spellweave, but those 2 are very easy to acquire early on and are pretty cheap all things considered.PC NA - Ceyanna Ashton - Breton Vampire MagDK0 -

There are better set combinations out there like Elemental Succession and Burning Spellweave, but those 2 are very easy to acquire early on and are pretty cheap all things considered.
Thanks, also i always played Dunmer but that was before race changes. I like Breton the best but is there a ton of dps loss to go to Breton from Dunmer or a High Elf. Sustain looks insane for Breton.0 -

MagDK has gone through a lot of changes. It's now a Dot class rather than a burst class. Takes some getting used to.PC - EU:

MagDK has gone through a lot of changes. It's now a Dot class rather than a burst class. Takes some getting used to.

Yes, that's the one thing DK has actually kept as its identity. After the DoT meta when all DoTs got nerfed into the ground they kept DK's a bit higher since it was apart of their identity and where a lot of damage was located in their kit. magDK's are still capable of some serious burst damage though, especially with Leap equipped and access to Fossilize to make an opening.Edited by Vevvev on June 13, 2020 4:56AMPC NA - Ceyanna Ashton - Breton Vampire MagDK1 -

✭✭Get yourself Elf Bane which can be bought from the stores. That set is perfect on magDK in most scenarios (not all tho). Also Maelstrom Inferno staff now can be farmed on normal version of Maelstrom which makes it very easy to farm.1 -

BeamsForDemacia✭✭✭with elfbane ilambris or maw of infernal are stronger than zaan, for trials i would definitely go for elfbane+Fg/ms but u need to transmute elfbane jewelry,
but for beginning its def not needed and u can just combine any mag sets like mentioned alr (false god is really a nice set from ss with ms for example)
and i guess a beginner wont have thrassians and they wont be useful on himIR/GH/TTT/GS [MEDUSA]0 -
Bradyfjord✭✭✭✭✭Mag DK have good dots for pressure and some excellent survival skills. For burst they need the destruction staff.
Law of Julianos is always a good beginners magic set. Shacklebreaker is my recommendation for the other 5 piece set. Pick any monster set or get some arena weapons.0
