Vampire changes and shop keepers

Can we please not have shop keepers decline to speak / interact with vampires at stage 4? This is such a poorly thought out change. I'm a pretty casual player. I don't have the gold to buy random potions to decrease my stage, and a 4 hour IN GAME ONLY cooldown that doesn't decrease out of game, it's ridiculous. Thats essentially the amount of time i spend on the game over the course of a few days.

If you want to have an RP aspect..just have them cower in terror and do whatever I want. Honestly what sense does it make, if they are that terrified of me being a monstrous vampire, to *** me off. They should do whatever I want at a discount just so they don't have their throats torn out.

To conclude. This change is just dumb and pointless. Where is the sense in punishing the playerbase with pointless inconveniences simply for them testing out the games heavily marketed and advertised "Re-Vamp".

Honestly. All I want to do is repair my broken gear. Now i've got to leave the game just running for 3 hours and wait out the stage decrease timer. So stupid.

Right you are. Thanks for the tip.

Still think its a dumb pointless change to have NPC's refuse to interact though.

You can use the skill mesmerize on the npc and then you can buy from them.

Blame everyone who continues to insist that Vampire have a "in game consequence" in order to make it fun/worth playing/fit the lore.

Before the rework, it didn't. You could be ugly as sin stage four and do whatever you pleased with NPCs.

But once word of the 'new vampire' went up, tons of people spoke up saying they wanted the vampire to mean what it means in lore and NPCs should be responding, there should be consequences for being a vampire..blahblahblah.

So they got what they wanted. The rework PUT THIS IN. And since they literally just 'finished' putting it in less than a month ago - perhaps they'll change it again in another 5-8 years...(however long it took to get the change the first time lol).

By that logic, then only half of the games classes should be accepted by NPC's: Templars / Wardens and possibly Dragonknights. Sorcs summon demons. Necros raise the dead. Nightblade siphon souls.

The justice system might be the worst gimmick i've seen in a video game.

I main a Nightblade btw. So why wouldnt me accidentally hitting sap essence in town not put a bounty on me, as vamp skills do?

Why doesn't a sorc walking through town with their demon pet not bring the guards running?

The whole thing is inconsistent and stupid.

There is craftable drink - Purifying Bloody mara. Get recipe, craft, drink 3 of them, and you are stage 1. Then craft Corrupting Bloody mara, and get to stage 4 with 1 drink. And yes, those changes feel stupid.

Mind if I drop a question in here since it's about vampires? (Saves starting a thread for 1 question)
    Anyway...

It's been ages since I had a vampire - can someone remind me how the feeding works?
I could've sworn you sneak up behind someone and press Y+B, but that's not working. (Or I'm doing it to the wrong people)

Vampires are monsters, and always have been in TES lore. Its good that ESO is embracing that.

They got what they wanted because the devs wanted it too. ZOS has shown time and again that they follow their own vision for the game, regardless of player sentiment. That vision may be inspired at times by player desires, but it isn’t beholden to them in the least. (Just look at all the changes they’ve made that have been almost universally decried or seemed to make no objective sense in terms of either gameplay or lore.) In the end, ZOS does what ZOS wants. And they should get the credit or the blame, as warranted.

You need to be much farther behind them now to get the Feed prompt. It makes some NPCs inaccessible if they are backed into a corner where you can’t get the right distance.

The Mesmerize tool tip should clearly say that you can use it on uncooperative NPCs. We've been getting a few of these threads lately and making this little change would go a long way to helping people find ways to play the game better.

It's actually how NPCs react in the TES universe when you are a vampire. Same thing happened in previous TES titles. I don't see why it has to change.

As much as MMO players like to throw "this is how an MMO works" at TES fans, I feel like this is a good example of the other way around... Welcome to Tamriel, my undead friend.

I actually like the justice system, and love how some necromancer skills are considered a crime. Lore-wise, this has been the case since TES3: Morrowind (at least that I can remember/have played). I think it still needs works, though.

    ...

I definitely agree, and not just because I feel like sorc pets are a plague.

For starters, lore dictates that these "pets" are bound to the caster, but can only remain for a short while before they must return to oblivion. Why? Because of the strength required to keep them under your command and bound to the plain you currently reside in. Its why you had to be a master in conjuration to conjure a dremora lord: they are otherwise too powerful and would attack you if you summoned them. That being said, I guess this is my way of complaining that they should be on a short timer, before having to be summoned again. Warden bear? Can remain as is, because there is no lore saying it should be otherwise, and it's an ultimate anyways.

However.... teeeeechnically there is no lore to say that guards would have a problem with it [queue Skyim guard quotes]. Town guards have always been weary of your bound friends, but have never attacked you for it.

As far as I know... I could be rusty on my lore, and I hated Oblivion so... I might be missing some things.

Edit: Oh, and its worth noting that necromancers use Conjuration magic (necromancy being a subcategory). Although the traditional schools of magic have not been established yet (we assume, since we have the sorc class, instead of individual skill lines like destruction, restoration, alterations, etc.), its the raising-of-the-dead part that the people of Tamriel have a problem with.

Werewolves weren't always this cool skill line (shout out to Morrowind, where there were consequences for not feeding). Therefore, since you were murdering innocents to appease your hunger... yah, werewolves have a bad rep. And lycanthropy is considered a disease, so... "ew."

Vampires, or more importantly, vampirism, is also considered a disease... so, again... you're gonna have a bad rep. Reputation aside, you drink sangrias, so of course people are going to consider you to be le evil.

And that will conclude today's history lesson.

The only benefit to upping your Stage is that it decreases the cost of Vampirism powers, right?

There are some okay passives that unlock. Stage 4 passive blows though. Its cool for the first hour until you realize that it gives no combat benefits whatsoever. Just significant negative consequences in terms of hp regen/fire damage taken/ability cost increase.

It is actually more in line with TES games. In other TES games where we can become a vampire, the same thing happens at stage 4.

Vampires and WWs are feared. The kind people of the various cities are scared of them. The change makes sense.

I'm sure someone else has already mentioned this.

    1) Vampire mesmerize skill (Hypnosis and Stupefy morph) can be used on the NPCs that do not want to interact with you because you are Vampire Stage 4 - just use it on them before talking to them.
    2) I believe there are some NPCs that this doesn't work on? At least there was when Greymoor first came out on PC - If that is still occurring it is a bug? Someone correct me if that is wrong and it is meant to be like that, if so that's dumb
    3) ZoS should definitely make it clear that this skill helps you get around as a Vampire Stage 4.
Crown Crates are a trap. Don't fall for the gamble! Balance? What Balance? Balance, smellance.

On a certain level, it doesn't make a lot of sense. That said, my experience with the justice system has involved running around with a character who had a 1 million plus bounty, so for her it did kind of make sense for her to be that darned infamous.

You get used to it after a while, and it is very workable. There are basically three places you get to hang out that you might otherwise not spend a lot of time in: (1) Coldharbour, which is a fully functional town once you complete the quest lines there, (2) outlaws refuges, many of which are very interesting to explore if you never have, and (3) Cyrodiil, where nobody cares about your bounty so you can sell and do your mount training there if you haven't done Coldharbor yet. It changes how you play the game in some fun ways, I think. Try to see it as an opportunity. :)

The reason is simple: you can easly tell who is a vampire but you cannot tell who is a nightblade or a necromancer or a sorcerer.
As for the daedras, they are not otlawed, simple as that while you need to make a distinction between blood magic and nightblade magic, which meddles with life "eesence" (i know it looks like blood but it isn't)
