Since I do not know all the abbreviations, your list would actually be very helpful if you said what each one was. I see them go by in guild chat all the time and never offer to help, because I have no clue to what they are even referring to.

Because most abbreviations have 3 letters to be immediately recognizeable as a dungeon. Usually I see BRF instead of BF for Bloodroot Forge.

Darkshade, Elden, Blessed and Spindle are the only ones I regularly see abbreviated as words rather than as "SC", "EH" "BC" or "DSC". Fungal is the only one that's almost as often shortened to FG as it is called Fungal.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

Most of the base game dungeons have a number to distinguish 1 and 2, so the difference between Banished Cells and Blessed Crucible is that the former is BC1 and BC2, while the latter is just BC.

Or would be, if that were a logical thing. It's just convention, though, so individual use may differ.

I usually see DC1/2, EH1/2, SC1/2, and FG1/2, at least way more often than the name written out.
And going with the three-letter combinations, Unhallowed Grave is often abbreviated to UHG.
Might differ between servers and platforms, as well.

How about we number them from 1 to N, sorted by three items:
    1. level it's open to do
    2. release date of the dlc
    3. alphabetically

    .. in that order !

    C'mon, it's easy ! Learn that !
And just say "DD LFG v17" in zone chat !

    Generics for randoms:
    • ONNTO - oh no not this one
    • ONNTOA - oh no not this one again
And some added silliness that doesn't roll off the tongue:
    TTH8KH - the tank has 8k health :|
ITHRDWWAB - is the healer really dual-wielding with a bow?
DTTRDOCODLCD - did the tank really disconnect or crapped out dlc dungeon?
WAIGATAADMD - why am I getting all the aggro and doing most damage? (healer)
