Please do something about Warden Bears

I'm saying this AS a Warden with a bear, but it's been really pissing me off lately. Sure it's useful in combat, but trying to do day-to-day things are a nightmare. They constantly stay aggro'd to enemies I'm trying to escape from, always dash in front of me after combat so its standing directly on the thing I just killed meaning I have to move it out of the way to loot it, and when I try fishing the damn thing keeps running in front of me so I can't even go idle. I need to keep repositioning to activate the fishing spot. All of this could be fixed by either making them intangible so we can activate things through them or simply toggling them on and off out of combat. I don't want to give up my bear support, but GD it's getting tiring.

Wild animals do what wild animals do, I guess. I feel the same way on sorc pets, they should be toggles.

Despawn it when your not using it. Use the Character sheet to do this. (should be able to use the character sheet, been a few years since I have played my Warden)

Not trying to sound trite about this, but that is really your only choice. If they fix the aggro, then it won't be effective in battle when you do use it. Problem is, the Spawn is tied to Ultimate and it has a long animation. Unlike Sorcerer Pets, it can't always be spawned on demand.

Now, they do need to toggle the collision on the dang thing when it is out of combat.

Yea, Bears need an overhaul. But that will probably cause more problems than they fix.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Just part of running a pet build. That is one of the reasons why my pet sorc is not my main character. He's fun to play in various content and strong for solo play, but pets just cause problems.

I want skins for the bear

    I play an argonian why can’t I choose a bear-lizard?

My other Warden is Wolf themed, can’t I get a wolf choice instead of the bear?

All pets should be click-thru. No reason for something with no interactions to block interactions.

You can use your Command Pet button (mine is Y, that might be default) and press (Command Pet) + (Block) to force the pet to return to you and leave combat. (EDIT: To force combat or specify a target, use (Command Pet) + (Attack).)
You can also remove (then re-add) the summoning ability from your bar to despawn your bear.
I do agree that any pets, summonables, anything else, should NOT have collision, because if I had a penny for every time one of them blocked a chest/door/NPC for someone, I'd be rich.

    Hope this helps!

I thought this would be about warden dps.

Do wardens that use the bear still have lower dps than those that use other ultimates?
Would be nice if I didn't have to double bar the ultimate slot for the bear.
and the attack animation wasn't so slow.

A bear there was, a bear, a bear!
All black and brown, and covered with hair.
    The bear! The bear!

Oh come they said, oh come to the fair!
The fair? Said he, but I'm a bear!
All black and brown, and covered with hair!

And down the road from here to there.
    From here! To there!
Three boys, a goat and a dancing bear!
They danced and spun, all the way to the fair!
    The fair! The fair!

Oh, sweet she was, and pure and fair!
The maid with honey in her hair!
    Her hair! Her hair!
The maid with honey in her hair!

The bear smelled the scent on the summer air.
    The bear! The bear!
All black and brown and covered with hair!

He smelled the scent on the summer air!
He sniffed and roared and smelled it there!
    Honey on the summer air!

Oh, I'm a maid, and I'm pure and fair!
I'll never dance with a hairy bear!
    A bear! A bear!
I'll never dance with a hairy bear!

    The bear, the bear!
Lifted her high into the air!
    The bear! The bear!

    I called for a knight, but you're a bear!
    A bear, a bear!
All black and brown and covered with hair

She kicked and wailed, the maid so fair,
But he licked the honey from her hair.
    Her hair! Her hair!
He licked the honey from her hair!

Then she sighed and squealed and kicked the air!
My bear! She sang. My bear so fair!
And off they went, from here to there,
The bear, the bear, and the maiden fair.

I could manually remove the skill to get rid of the bear, but that still has the problem of both having to do that every time I want to get rid of it and that when I do want it back, like if I were to suddenly get into combat, I'd have to re-summon it. I used to use the Frost Storm ult. which is pretty nice for crowd control but I mostly use the bear as an alternate target so I can take a small breather in combat.

I also wasn't aware there were pet commands besides using the ult to trigger an attack and I'm pretty sure there's no "de-summon" command. It's not a sorc pet. It's just a few things that, over time, make it a real nuisance to use. Also yes, more alt skins would be nice too, while we're asking for things. It's been however many years, they've got the models for more than just grey and brown.

I occasionally see a person with a bear sit for minutes with the bear blocking a chest, merchant, dig site, whatever. Its obvious trolling. They should not be able to do that out of combat.

    I can see it now......

From Patch Notes 3435.98 Combat pet owners will now find a toggle option to de-summon when not in combat. Combat pets will automatically disappear when in town. However if we see multiple posts on the forums that people want their pets to be allowed in town we will never again listen to forum opinions.

Warden bear owner here and I could not agree more with the OP. It's getting extremely old and annoying as HL.

    Not sure, sorry.
    1. Try checking your controls/keybinds!
    2. And I assume if you remove and re-add a skill, it works the same.

I wish the bear was optional. Atm if you decide not to use it, you gonna lose alot of dps. Bear should be nerfed to the same level with other ultimates and some other warden skills/passives buffed to compensate. Then people have actually a choice if they wanna use the bear or something else. All other classes have multiple options for ultimates. Yes I know there's always 1 that's better than the rest but for Wardens the bear is currently the ONLY option if you wanna be competitive. It's because the bear does almost 10% of the dps where other classes ultimates only 3%.

Whatever buttons activate them you should be able to deactivate them by holding the same buttons for 3 seconds. That would be sweet. I remember a bear was blocking a writ chest so I was slashing at it hoping they would get the hint.

It won't. We are entirely dependent on the bear if we want to min/max our DPS, especially now that pets are affected by Bloodthirsty (not complaining about the resulting DPS increase though!). Slotting an ultimate like Northern Storm will result is a massive DPS loss, and I only ever use that in a group that for some reason absolutely needs major protection. Which is basically never.
