With the release of next gen consoles right around the corner, are there any rumors of the developers allowing account transfers again?

The account transfer was a one time deal with sony/microsoft. I am pretty sure zos took a loss to do it, but was able to eventually gain a playerbase on console. There will be no big gain for them this time around, the playerbase already exists there.

There's no reason for them to do that since the console servers won't need to be fresh/new/empty for the next generation.

"I've been here for years, and lemme tell you all about how they should never change or evolve Z, because then the game would be ruined forever." - The other half of posters on this forum.

I hope they decide to allow platform transfers, as it's the only way I'll continue playing. But if not, I'll simply shift my ESO time fully to FFXIV.

But all console players will still have to buy the game again right?

I'd probably dump another $5k into this game over the next 3 years if I could transfer to PC.

You never know. After all, alliance change was a big NO.

No you don't have to re buy the game again for next gen and no the transfer was a 1 time thing it wont happen again so if you want to play ESO on PC do what everyone else has done and make a PC account and start over especially since if you understand what you're doing it won't take long to lvl up and with the current add-ons it makes things easier on PC

I believe both consoles PS5 and Xbox will be backwards compatible with ESO.
