Why is my excavation skill a full level higher than my scrying skill?

From everything I have read, they are supposed to level at the same rate and is that way on all my friends characters, why is there such a huge gap on mine? I am level 6.25 Excavation and 5.1 Scrying, anyone know how this happened? And no, I have not failed at a ton of scrys or anything, the exact opposite in fact and have only been doing the easy green/blue ones.

✭✭✭You get additional experience from achievements. Excavation achievements are easier and faster to get than the scrying ones.3 -

That's possible. Also, I suspect that some of the achievements are specific to one or the other, so if you get excavation achievements faster, you'd get more excavation points faster.
Regardless, I think it works out just fine this way. ✭✭✭Every time you earn an Antiquities Achievement, you get the Achievement Point value as skillup points in Excavation or Scrying respectively.
Excavation levels faster because it gets the achievement points from 'Excavate X Antiquities' and 'Excavate X bonus items'. Scrying gets the points from 'Scry for X Antiquities' and 'Find X Leads', and Leads generally take longer to find than bonus items since you're getting those automatically while excavating anyway.
I reached Excavation 10 almost a full level before Scrying. While leveling Scrying from 9 to 10, I reached the '150 Leads' achi which evened it out and helped it catch up.1 -
