Any good spot for Vampiric/Solityde furnishing plans? I also noticed that the chance of a drop of thematic plans was reduced.

I did a complete thieving tour of the city of Solitude, looting every container and picking a few pockets, and all I found was ONE green furniture plan.

I guess we'll have to find some crypt with a lot of urns...

I have yet to find a spot with a decent amount of lootable containers in Greymoor. Most of them are not lootable, or there aren't any at all. It almost seems like they forgot to put them in...

Yep, been playing since release and I haven’t got one single furnishing plan, not even a green. The amount of loot-able containers are extremely small and the drop rate must be minuscule. I am indeed starting to think that this is an oversight on their part.

Or they just wanted to go back to the Morrowind model.

This is the same expansion where a vast majority of the buildings don't even have interiors to explore. Chapter feels slightly incomplete to be honest.

I have been looking hard - checking every delve and world container, going into every residence and public building over and over, stealing and assassinating since the pack dropped. Blackreach and Skyrim.

I found one blue vamp recipe, and a handful of generic greens that have been available for a long time - Nord seating and Argonian shelving, etc. No motif pages so far.

Found one blue ugly curtain in harrowstorm, and 2 plans for green bench Solitude style. I think that drop rate was purposefully tweaked, so people bye furniture from Crown store, and bought furnished houses, instead of unfurnished. The amount of buildings you can enter, gets less and less with every expansion ( compare base game Wayrest and Rimmen or Solitude). Greymoor also introduced more unlootable containers- there are many cupboards and desks, that were not lootable in Greymoor keep, even they looked like other lootable cupboards, desks and trunks.

Indeed the drop rate seems tremendously small. Overall I am very pleased with Greymoor - definitely one of my fave releases, especially antiquities. But it does make me sad when I can't find furniture plans after 5 straight days devoted to looting urns, safeboxes, and citizens in the hopes of finding a furniture plan. Not one. The first few days I found a couple just doing random things in Skyrim -- but rng dried up after that.

I've been thieving, questing, exploring, destroying harrowstorms, killing world bosses and generally opening every box, treasure chest, bag and urn I come across every time I'm in the new zones.

I have found exactly one furnishing plan. A blue plan for vampiric drapes if I remember correctly. It was in an urn in the public dungeon down in Blackreach.

That's it, just the one plan. You'd think that I'd at least have found a few green ones as well by now, but no.

Really? I've found several of each just by checking every bag I run past. Several Solitude, a few Vampires. Even a purple Redguard one. Drop rates don't feel different from any other zone to me.

The drop rate does indeed seem to be almost non-existent, I’ve gone through the entire zone and I only found the plans for one solitude table ☹️

I noticed something odd today: I opened a master lock safe box in the Solitude bank which had nothing but gold in it. As far as I remember, I've never seen this on any safe box before. Aren't they supposed to contain at least one item?

Which leads me to believe that skyrim loot tables are indeed bugged [Snip]

The harrowstorms have a small chance of dropping a document pouch, which has a small chance of containing a new furniture plan.

The dwarven public dungeon has a massive amount of containers, but it's very dark, so they're difficult to spot. Also, a chance of a new recipe dropping from them seems quite low.

Many of the Skyrim lockboxes only have gold in them.
I can't believe that this is intended.
I have found 1 blue and 2 greens. The plans are not worth the effort to farm.

I spent eight entire hours stealing and looting in Solitude, and it netted me three new green furnishing plans. Multiple runs through the Blackreach public dungeon generated zero new plans for me.

The difference in drop rates between Elsweyr and Greymoor are like night and day. And the amount of chained up fake doors is about the same.

My theory is that they want people spending more time on antiquity furnishings than craftable furnishings. That way, when you finally finish grinding those 30 skill points out, you'll want to buy crown store skill copies for your alts so they can all have that nifty Keen Eye: Treasure Chests perk.

The Blackreach public dungeon has a LOT of containers, but you need wall of elements to provide lighting so you can see them more easily - and even then, it's maybe one plan per tour of the dungeon (looting all containers). Drop rate from Harrowstorms is also very low, maybe one in twenty. Assume one per hour at best.
Stealing from the desks and containers in various places in Solitude is worth trying too.

I've made three trips into that public dungeon opening every container I could find and only ever got one plan. As for harrowstorms, that's a big fat zero. I did find a few more in random containers as I was questing, but in total I probably have no more than four or five since Greymoore went live.

I got a couple of blue Solitude plans from the Blackreach public dungeon. Purples actually drop OK from the urns but they could be anything. Nothing exciting dropped for me after multiple runs through.

A guildie pulled a purple Solitude plan from a delve urn.

    They seem rare by design.

The plans are incredibly rare and frustrating to collect. It's yet another step back from Elsweyr which dropped document pouches often off dragons and included any quality any recipe.

I've done multiple runs through Solitude and hardly ever get any, annoying it's usually a non-Greymoor recipe if I do finally net something.

Use Almalexia's Enchanted Lantern from collections menu. Works great for things like looking for containers in dark area's.

Blue & Purple drops each have individual cooldown timers - each estimated at ~15 minutes per character per quality (common belief among furniture plan farmers). So the trick is to take 2-5 characters into Nchuthnkarst and switch between them every time you find a blue or purple. This doesn't seem to apply to provisioning recipes, just furnishing plans (and maybe motifs). You'll get a lot of Dwemer motifs this way - IDK if they trigger the purple drop timer, as well.

This is the best place I've heard of and done so far. Hours in there, no purple Vampiric drops for me yet, but got a Solitude one and basegame ones, and a decent amount of blue ones. IDK what everyone means about it being too dark - maybe I just have my graphics settings the right way?

And even though it's a public dungeon, the first like 2 rooms (30-50 containers total?) involve very few enemies. People can help you with a build if you struggle to kill ~3-5 enemies at a time. All bosses skipping.

"If it's so good, why not keep it a secret?" Well, it's only okay, but I do want furnishing plan prices to go down :~p

I'd rank it similar to the Shimmerene Monastery. Haven't heard of a "gold mine" location yet.

Use the almalexia enchanted light memento, it's a base game memento that puts a light on you that lasts like 30 seconds maybe? And it's very bright and less hassle than doing that

Ive found about 20-25 greens, 7-10 blues, and 3 purples. I got a couple of prints from harrowstorms ( ive done about 20 storms) and a few from random mobs. I got none from pick pick stab( couple hundred murders). The rest came from loot containers both free and steal.

I actually stopped farming them because the drop rate is horrendous and i was getting about 4 times the value in other loot than i was in prints. IE: Loot 40k worth of other stuff and one solitude print worth 10k. I open containers if i run by them doing other things and im not in a hurry but i stopped farming and pick pick stabbing to try to get them. I also havent gotten any out of daily quest rewards so i assume they dont drop in those either.

Morrowind was hard to obtain prints
Summerset was easy and then hard.
Murkmire was quite a bit of effort.
Elsweyr was stupid easy, they literally fell out of the sky.
Greymoor is looking to be hard.
DLC 2020 should be easy, IF we have more prints but probably not since we got two this time.

Farming prints in this game makes me feel like im bipolar.

I'm doing this for week now with 6 characters, 2-3 times a day and it's really weird. First couple days were really good - almost every time every character get at least one green, blue or purple Greymoor recipe. My main learned 30-40 recipes and I sold some doubles for a lot of money. Two days ago I get only two weak vampiric recipes, yesterday nothing and today morning nothing - now only base game recipes drops for me :(

It must be some king of algorithm because it's impossible to get so much for couple days and then nothing. Do you have any experience with this? Do I have to wait couple days to reset or this is some pernament limit per character?

I have been farming farming farming... Stealing, harrowstorms, public dungeons, dailies, etc. Even the spots or methods that are thought of as "best" for Greymoor net very few furniture plans. If I do get a few in one day, they are not Vampiric or Solitude. This has been a very good release, except for this statistic. I don't know why they don't want us to have the furniture plans. Being able to craft furniture is one of the reasons people buy their ridiculously overpriced houses from the crown store. If they don't want people using furnishing plans to make a lot of money, they are failing at it. The scarcity of the stupid things makes the prices sky high in the guild stores. C'mon ZOS! Please increase the drop rate at least a little bit! You could increase it by 200% and it would still be miniscule. Frustrating.
