Being forced into an unfinished dungeon is [snip]

Varangian_af_Scaniae
I just got pulled into an 50-80% finished DLC vet dungeon. Why would I want to help the good people in the dungeon? My Pledge will not be completed. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND DESIGNED THIS [snip]!!!
I have almost 2 years in this game and I haven't done more than 10:ish trials and 100 dungeons. Every time I try to do any of the multi-player aspects of this game... I just am out of words... How designs this stupid [snip]

You know, I can't imagine why game devs would design a system so that any groups who has a group member leave or get kicked aren't SOL in an unfinished dungeon unless they can beg guildmates to help them finish...

Look, if you don't want unfinished dungeons, don't use the Groupfinder to get you a random group. Make a premade group from zone or your guilds. That'll guarantee you don't get an unfinished instance.

I have tried guild's and it's not working. When I want to do any daily's no folks are online. Even in big popular guilds. I'm doing something wrong.

Yep, it's stupid. They could've at least make sure that you get the active pledge completion if you get pulled into a half finished dungeon. But like @VaranisArano said, don't play with random people. Don't tell me that you haven't made any friends in 2 years.

The cooldown is to prevent people from going "Ugh, I don't want to do a hard dungeon", quitting on their group, and immediately requeuing while hoping for an easier dungeon.

Sorry to hear that. Can you try forming a group for the pledges in zone? Usually there are people hanging out near the Undaunted tents waiting for their queue who might be willing to join up for a fast run.

So, you want the ability to fill holes in your group if someone leaves, don't you?

But I guess you want a special exemption so you never have to do that for anyone else?

If you get kicked early you will not get an cooldown, had people requested an kick for this reason.
And unlike pledges if you level doing random dungeons coming in on last boss as an real tank or healer tend to work out well.
Yes its exceptions, Banish cell 2 has two dps checks, Keeper Indril add spans and last boss will spawn dadreots, you can fail them on normal But this is the rare and weird stories
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I've been there. But for me it was Spindleclutch. And I was the tank and we were still missing a healer after that. Why would I wait until a healer is merciful enough to finish the dungeon only so that I can do it all over again from the start, hoping that I can do a complete dungeon next time.

I wish there was a checkbox for "no backfill" or alternatively a separate queue for pledges that always takes you to the start.

That's fair...as long as if someone leaves your group, there's no one coming to finish up with you.

You can't check a box that always gets you a fresh instance, and then expect someone to join you if someone leaves; i.e. doing something you just checked a box that said you wouldn't do it for them.

@ZOS_Finn This post is indirectly an appeal for SOLO MODE Dungeons. Some players don't want to help others especially if it'd waste their time by denying them their Pledge reward. They just want to get things done and collect their reward.
Stop turning a blind eye to the large demographic that just wants to do their own thing and get it done -- and feel hindered by groups.

Some of us like being pulled into partially-finished dungeons. Especially on veteran, if you don't run them very often and are after monster helms or motifs. Just... to point that out.

Yeah, I had that happen to me a few days ago in ICP. Ended up joining as a tank just after the first boss and went through, then had to requeue afterwards to finish the pledge.

And after all of that, I still didn't get the gear I needed either...

Still, I think the newer DLC pledges have changed so that you only need the final boss to get the pledge done, which is a system that could solve this problem. If all you needed was to kill the final boss, then it wouldn't matter if you get shoved in the middle of one since you'd still be able to finish it.

You can't find anyone because why would anyone want to pay to increase their torment or deal with buggy instances (or bad players)?

That's essentially what you do when you pay for DLC these days. You're paying for buggy content that is NOT fun to play.

Add in that this is probably the game's worst patch in history and the awful performance nearly everywhere in the game, doing nearly everything. Even logging in requires entering your password more than once when the servers are getting full and it always says the same "account inactive" BS to suggest you entered the password wrong even if you copy and paste the exact password you copied once back in the next 5 times and it works.

Couple that with some changes no one liked like the block change that makes it completely unreliable to block for anyone that isn't a block-holding tank, the spec ZOS wanted to nerf so many times, and you have the result: simply less players will bother running content, less players will purchase DLC, and less players will log in eventually.

ZOS needs to take the performance of the game SERIOUSLY this time around. The overall sentiment in the actual game is NEGATIVE. No one even tells you to shut up if you complain about performance these days or a bug. That's how bad it is.

NO!!! It's not a direct appeal for SOLO MODE. I as a main solo player love and understand there is other rules at play when we engage in co-op.

Problem is, selfish people like you are exactly why this kind of thing happens to you. The way you act here says to me that, to you, the people in the group might as well be bots put there for your grouping use, not actual other people.

I keep hearing: I just want my pledge done, doesn't matter what happens to anyone else.

As long as people act like this toward others, it's not going to get any better.

Finish the boss on hardmode, then queue back up for the dungeon on normal and it still counts as a hardmode complete. I don't mind getting pulled into long vet dlc dungeons on the last boss because of that.

Yes, everyone is like that sometimes. But not all the time. It's extremely annoying when this happens to you with a pledge dungeon.
The checkbox for having back-fill or not or alternatively a separate queue for pledges that always start at the entrance of the dungeon would solve this issue without taking the easy monster mask backfill away from those who are looking for it.

And then you'll have a harder time backfilling your own group if you lose a member or two along the way.

And then we will start seeing threads about people who queued for the pledge and were kicked just before the last boss so the rest of the group could bring in a friend (this already happens in monster helm runs, but it would happen more often).

It can be annoying, and it would def help if the rest of the pledges were adjusted to work like the DLC pledges where you only need the last boss.

Idk I usually stick around when I end up in a partial. I only mostly queue as tank or healer, and I know what it's like waiting for a replacement for those roles, I also know what it's like waiting in queue as DPS, so if I can help out I will especially if it's near the end anyway. Most people are pretty appreciative and might even be willing to re-queued with you if you explain that you were trying to do your pledge and you only need the first boss now to finish it.

Sometimes it even works out in my favor. Not too long ago I was doing a pledge as healer for selene's web and got put into a partial that was on the last boss. We cleared it on hardmode with no issues. I then re-queued, ended up in a group that got through the dungeon fine but kept wiping on the last boss. The tank was new, kept dying to the bear attack, we were being patient with him but he was clearly frustrated and left, taking a DPS with him, so that run failed, but I still got HM credit even though neither run was complete, because karma I guess. If I had just left the first run because it was a partial who knows how long it would've taken me to get that pledge done.

Of course if after couple pulls it becomes obvious why the last person left I may say something like; I'm sorry but this isn't going to work out. And leave. But I'll usually give it a chance because, well, it's just a game.

    LOL

It's RANDOM - as others have pointed out. RANDOM group finder. RANDOM dungeon finder. If you don't want RANDOM then don't use it. If you want to do pledges without fuss then form your own group and port in to whichever dungeon you want - as others have also suggested.

Also, zos changed things a while back so the last dungeon boss gives credit - so if you do last boss vet hm you get 2 keys. Then you can solo or group for earlier ones in normal; even if you complete in normal after you still get the vet hm last boss achievement for pledge turn-in.

    Nice rant, though. :)

That seems like an overly cynical assumption. If the person has friends that need the pledge why wouldn't the person have just queued with their friend? I know if I asked my friends if they needed to do their pledges and their response was "yeah but I don't feel like it just pug it and invite me at the end". I'd be like like "um, excuse me? How about you pug it and then don't invite me because screw you".

I agree that it's not great design, but you could have done the last boss and then queued again for the other bosses.

At least that would have ensured that, if the second dungeon group broke up before/at the last boss, you would have already done it.
