It was a horrible idea to have leads drop from dungeons

Just out of curiosity - how much more difficult are normal dungeons compared to the group delves in Craglon? Have fished the dwarwen ebon wolf leads out of Rkhardahrk, Rkundzelft and Mtharnaz solo without much trouble and now I'm kind of wondering if attempting to get the ones from Darkshade Caverns and Volenfell would be a possibility (or if it would be waste of time and buffood).

some are more difficult that others. Volenfell was one of the first dungeons i soloed, it can just be a little... long. Darkshade 1 is pretty easy as well and shorter then Volenfell. Darkshade 2 can potentially kick your butt on a last boss, unless you have really REALLY good self heals/shields/AoE

Since more people be farming chests they should lower the respawn time.

But i think the problem i see is people are trying to level antiquities in one day and get everything in a few weeks. The idea of the system is to enjoy it and savour the slow grind over the coarse of a year or more. Patience is a virtue

But can they get a lead for the amulet of kings like you can in Cyrodiil?

I do think that a easy soloution would be for leads to have a 90% drop chance on vet's that way running a vet is much more preferable and would lead to fewer lowbie players having to be rushed through the content.

i mean vet is technally harder content and should really have a higher drop chance.

I agree: it's a smart way of introducing permanent or temporary rewards for experiencing or revisiting already existing content in the game, not just grinding the most recent bit of new content. I think the Antiquities system is a lot better for the health of the game than these endless crown store cash-grab gimmicks, and it's certainly not a huge effort for the developers to create a new Mythic item. The Ring of the Hunt alone just had me enjoying old content for a couple of days. I had fun, and I think I got a reasonable reward. Not a game changing item, but fun.

Am I a fan of grinding old dungeons for leads? Nope. However it does give us a reason to go back to these old dungeons that we may not have set foot in for a long while. It's a way to bring them back to life, a bit.

However I do agree that it does give new players a bad experience. We who have had ESO for a long while and are at 810CP+ just wanna race to the end to loot the last boss. That makes it very odd for new players who just wanna take it easy, look around, loot everywhere and just enjoy the dungeon.

i HATE that some leads are tied to the silly pvp nonsense zones!

    THAT IS RIDICULOUS !!!!!!!
all other drop sources from leads are fine, but pvp for a couple of them?
    that is beyond [snip]

Make friends and play with these. I know it's a harsh suggestion, but if you are depending on other players in normal dungeons, you need friends - not a "group", because activity finder will rarely give you what you need.

At the same time, I'm a bit baffled about people actually going with finder to dungeons to farm leads like that. Must be way smoother just to go there solo for anything like that.

Yeah, I've been thinking about making a thread. But there wouldn't be much point, so I don't. Putting leads in places like Imperial City Sewers is much, much, MUCH worse.

the annoying part is... some of the older dungeons require that you wait for npc's to finish talking in order to progress the quest for a skill point. and people farming leads? do NOT wait.
There's only about four I can think of that are excessively chatty or require the dialogue to complete before moving on:
    • VoM
    • Tempest Island
    • Volunfell
Most dungeon quest chains will advance by area. You can wait for the dialogue only if you want to.

Then you have those are are not solo friendly for the average person
    • Direfrost and Blackheart have two person mechanics between switches and curses (I don't think you can unlock the door from the outside anymore.)
    • Wayrest II, too, I guess because of Malubeth.
    • Fungal II because of chains.

You can solo Fungal II with well placed ground AoEs. This is me doing it 3 years ago back when Viper was the PvP meta:

Doesn't Imperial City Prison also have a gate that only open when you pulls two levers at the same time?

I found one in a mushroom node. It seems like they drop from pretty much anything and everything.

I got a gold lead from an imp stool node in Coldharbor earlier. Another thing to sit in the Journal until it times out. I really wish I could just give them to people who are already doing this stuff.

...They changed whitegoldtower (snake doesnt reset any more when you go to jail) so you can solo this now...

This is false - just tested it and Adjudicator fight resets when solo player caged. The ONLY exception to this is pet sorc where the pet is nibbling the adjudicator while player escapes the cage and this has been a thing since ~2017, maybe earlier. Wardens with bears may have similar mileage.

But it has NOT changed - the same conditions exist that always have. :(
