AS I ASKED BEFORE, @ZOS what in the WORLD were you thinking when you put the thrassian strangler behind a FISHING WALL, and in ARTAEUM of ALL PLACES?

ARTAEUM, where everyone in tamriel will be all simultaneously trying to fish one of 6 NODES (trollface? unfunny joke? unfun to find out about Easter egg?)
Which one of you decided that that would be FUN, and who nodded their head in agreement about it?

IM ASKING YOU @ZOS what YOU think is so much fun and was such a GREAT IDEA about putting it behind a fishing wall in ARTAEUM. Can you or can you NOT justify that decision? It makes zero sense to me, after putting so much effort into creating an entire new scrying system, which is actually a good amount of fun when it's not bugging out (another conversation that I wasn't sufficiently aggravated about to come to the forums about because it was redoable and only maybe two or three digging sessions was bugged.) and you know why I didn't come here to complain about it? because I UNDERSTAND THAT LAUNCHING A NEW HUGE UPDATE COMES WITH BUGS THAT NEED IRONING OUT! gasp.

but what makes ZERO SENSE to me is what I DID come here to ask you @ZOS about. And if you can't honestly just answer the question due to the fact you kinda know it might have been one of your, let's just say to be nice "less well thought out" decisions, then can you AT LEAST CONSIDER making SOME SORT OF ADJUSTMENT?

PS: They included leads into every aspect of the game. If we want all of them, we'll have to do things we don't usually do. But it's a choice.

I got my lead in artaeum, but it didn't come from no fishing hole, heck I don't know the last time I fished... I walked up to psijic portal that 70 other players ran past and scooped it up. Just because someone's spreadsheed said some way was "the way" to get something, doesn't mean it is.

This above was your first forum comment since 2019, so I assume this is the REAL QUESTION that's really been BUGGING YOU that you have a RIGHT TO ASK.

Do other leads if that one is being over farmed. You don't have to do them in a specific order and they will still be there next month.

I don't understand why people are waving off the OP's very valid concerns?

It took me three hours of fishing to get the lead today. Because there were 30 other players also trying, and because of that, I was lucky if I got two casts in before the hole dried up. Over and over and over again, just running like mad from hole to hole.

I do not mind grinding if I can actually grind... This was just sucky madness. Maybe there are other means of obtaining them, but aside from the person above, I've only heard of them dropping from fishing in Artaeum. Say what you will about following spreadsheets, but I'd rather do things that have been proven to drop. Here's how long it's taken me to get other gold leads, by the way:

- Other Thrassian Stranglers pieces: maaaaaybe 30 minutes per, at most. They took 15 minutes to drop via fishing in Stros. Because there are more fishing nodes and players were able to spread out and actually catch the damn fish.
- Mnemonic Star Sphere: 15-20 minutes of fishing in CWC.
- Almalexia shrine: third lock box that I picked tonight in the Tribunal temple.
- Nerevar Moon-and-Star: fourth or fifth Vvardenfell daily reward box
- Master Stormhaven furnishing lead: 15-20 minutes of farming runestones.

Maybe I've been extraordinarily lucky, but 3+ hours is absurd when the only reason it took that long was because there are too few fishing holes...

The OP is right. This is effin' absurd.

There's having to fish Artaeum when dozens of other players are all trying to do the same thing and there aren't enough fishing holes so you spend ten times as much time running between fishing holes than actual fishing (never mind how boring fishing is in its own right). And then having to farm bosses and wait for them to respawn to kill them again until finally you get the lead.

But seriously, wouldn't any lead in fishing help with getting the fishing achievements at least? Theoretically, more people at a fishing hole gives you a higher chance of special fish, right? That's what the load screen tip claims.

It seems clear to me Antiquities was designed to cast a wide net over basically all aspects of the game, especially those "forgotten" ones like fishing and treasure maps (remember when people could barely give them away?). So time spent in it = working as intended, probably.

They might adjust fishing drop rates a bit, but overall considering how many people in guilds are boasting about having gotten their Wild Hunt Ring already, the overall process feels a bit too fast. Especially when the mythic gears are bound and you can only use one. What are you going to do after you're done with the fishing? -- that's something ZOS probably thought about too. They need to hook you into spending time and keep spending time.

It's a continued theme around here. PTS is just a demo, don't let them fool you. They are, at best, searching for critical bugs that will crash your game - they don't at all care about your opinions or what you think of their changes/systems they implement. Not a care in the world.

Groan... the NOW generation (regardless of age) Take a chill pill and do something else. It took me 3 days to get the gold lead I wanted from bad man's hollow. It's a small public dungeon with so many people in there, you have to camp a boss for 5 to 7 minutes each. So... I camped two or 3 each day and then went and played the rest of a huge game. You're playing a video game for goodness sake.

First off, it is an easily provable fact that Zos has not ignored EVERY single piece of PTS feedback. Not sure why that would even be suggested. Case in point, they ditched the cast time on shields and went a different route due to our feedback. That is one of many occasions.

Second, just because they do not bend out every whim does not mean they ignore even most of the feedback.

I would suggest Meow made a very valid point, that it would behoove OP to pay attention to the PTS cycle and patch notes and provide feedback then instead of well after the fact. Then again, it is a choice stay informed or complain after the fact.

Nah. I think the main issue is people thinking that because they give feedback then the devs will make those very changes, and if they don't then that means the devs aren't listening.

@Chrlynsch Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the lead you get from the psijiic portal is not the same lead you get from the fishing. You need both of them.

To the OP..........Stop your raging over needing to fish. Most of us have things we don't want to do ingame but if we really want an item from those activities, we do them. But most of us don't come to the forum to rage about it. I need the last lead from the psijiic portal and have been trying for 3 days to no avail but I'm not going to start a thread to cry about it. Patience is a virtue.

There are more than 6 fishing holes. There are fishing holes on both sides of the map and also up close to the portal that takes you to Summerset.

Why wouldn't they? ZOS already put two bound recipes behind Artaeum fishing.

Yeah, it was crowded when Summerset dropped. A couple weeks later, it became manageable.

And that's really what this complaint is about: a crush of people are trying to grind out fishing in a single zone because Greymoor just launched. Its the sort of problem that solves itself with time. A little patience and you won't be fighting mobs of people for a few fishing spots.
