It was a horrible idea to have leads drop from dungeons

Now cp 810 are rushing through normal dungeons to get leads - for me this is great as i am cp 810 also and have done every dungeon 100 times over... but for new players exploring a game this will create a HORRIBLE dungeon experience and give them a very bad impression of the community as a whole...

50% on world bosses is pretty lucky.
I spent 3 hours in Murkmire for the lead, killing both the world boss and the delve boss.
17 runs into dire frost keep and still no lead as well.

they usually take a few runs.

I got the mythic items done and have been helping friends get the wold mounts pieces. we've just been doing normal speedruns. in a group of 3 or 4, somebody usually gets a lead per run.

IMO you don't need to speed run dungeons. The content is fun and laid back to just simply enjoy it, along with world bosses, dolmens, etc. It's the rare leads tucked away in rarely spawned safeboxes and thieves treasure troves where you also have to compete with other players on the map for those limited resources that you need to worry about. There was a guy in zone chat the other day wailing on someone for trespassing into his turf. He was trying to establish some code of the streets and other players are not allowed to take resources from his territory. At first I thought it was a jest, a comical argument, but then the conversation went downhill pretty fast. And as usual the whole zone chat started getting involved and everyone started shouting and ultimately reporting/ignoring everyone. This IMO is definitely not healthy for the community when players are pitting themselves against other players.

We had a thread, complaining, that leads drop from criminal activities, thread complaining that they drop from fishing, and now this. Next one will be asking not to place leads in overland chests? The system is designed, to encourage all varieties of things to do that are available for players. Too low lvled for dungeon? Just do quests, dig green ones, loot chests around unitl you lvl up.

I refuse, I will be steam rolling as fast as possible to finish it, I dont need story, I dont need pretty views, I need the stats.. Im like a [very wired person that loves the things that give him purpose], I need the numbers!

So apologies in advance for the newbies that end up in my dungeons, we going fasttttttttttt

Diff'rent strokes. We've already done the dungeons hundreds of times and have the capability and strats to be time efficient. If my friends volunteer to help me I want it to waste as little of their time as possible.

Totally get where you are coming from...

We spent a good part of the weekend rushing Volenfel and the two DCs on normal and it made farming runs look like sedate lazy treks through the wilderness..

However, we were all prepared for that (as we would be on a farm run).... not the sort of thing I’d do in a PUG tho... very unsociable.

But in general I like the fact that leads are located all over the place and don’t want ZOS to change that....

Fix the wonky purple excavation things that don’t work properly ... that would be my wish

I'm fine with them dropping in all the various places they do (though pvp areas can be annoying when they are getting zerged) I'm just tired of the bad RNG. I've seen some people have amazing luck for sure, but I had to run Elden Hollow 1 over 30 times to get one piece of one ring to finally drop.

First I was annoyed, then mad, then just sad, then numb to the pain. It was like farming vma again (oh wait, I still have to do that as well, FUN!)

Honestly i got wild hunt leads all on the first try, one world boss was on the second and dungeon on the 4th...guess im lucky...but i think if people join dungeons that dont want to get the leads the experience is probably not that great for them...

Most infuriating is leads drop even if you don't have Greymoor. Annoying notifications and I think drop rate is increased to push players into buying the chapter. I run casually random vets and already got few achievements for lead. Stop it, Todd, I don't want to buy Skyrim again!

Hmm, wasn't there a ZOS interview where antiquities were presented as something more geared towards players who enjoy solo play / exploration. Having leads in dungeons rather goes against that.
Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

There are skill points, motifs, and an assortment of other things that are sometimes available in dungeons or pvp. That doesn't make those things "solo player unfriendly".

A major part of Antiquities isn't in group content. Therefore, it's "more geared" towards people who enjoy solo play. Not "totally geared", just "more".

(and I say this as someone who doesn't pvp or do dungeons.)

Even without antiquities people were rushing dungeons. Really a lot of people just want to do it their own way solo. We're overdue for Solo dungeons.

There are definitely leads that drop from trash. I was mostly referring to the Mythic leads that are assigned to specific bosses, typically the last boss in a group content. Most dungeons are pretty easy to solo on normal with a mageblade, that is the point I was making. A pet sorc also works really well. The one you might have issues with is Blackheart with the stun mechanic. I farmed with 1 friend to be safe.

I have 3/6 of the mythics (15 leads total). I got 13/15 faster (combined for all) than either of the fishing leads by themselves. Talk about painful.

Almost nobody plays the entire game. A PVPer could make the exact same statement about almost any PVE content. The reality is, they put specific leads behind almost every type of content. I might jest about fishing, but the reality is, that is the fairest approach. You want all the leads, play all of the game. And if you don't PVP, 4/6 of the mythic items are pretty useless anyway.

I had the exact thing just happen in my last dungeon run with my level 34 NB. We zoned into fungal grotto and the tank excitedly said in chat "this is my first time tanking!" then whooosh off went the 810CP "healer" destroying all the mobs. And then we spent the rest of the dungeon chasing after the 810cp player killing everything by himself. At least I know now what that was about!

So I understand people want to complete everything, and they want to do it right away. So for the next few weeks people will be rushing content.

With regards to new players and group dungeons, I'm sorry to say, dungeon pug runs have always been a dice roll of the type of experience you'll have. The best thing is for the new player to find a guild for players to run dungeons with. I know some more solo players may be shy about joining a guild, but then group dungeons are not technically solo activities.

So they can use the guild finder to find a guild that's a good fit, or they can play solo until they are strong enough to solo some of these on their own. And in a few weeks, when things have calmed down, so too will the groups running dungeons. Will this be a 100% perfect solution for everyone, no. But I also don't think it's that dire a problem for new players as a whole.

To begin your search for buried treasure in the Antiquities system, you need to first find a "lead" to where that treasure is. These leads drop from a variety of different gameplay tasks (killing mobs, killing bosses, fishing, thievery, etc)

What you said it true. As someone that does play the entire game though, I kind of agree with a lot of these complaints. PvP is very specific gameplay, more akin to a player complaining about something dropping in a trial IMO. As going into IC to farm a boss, especially if you are no experienced and facing zergs is a large group affair just like a trial. And a pug group isn't going to cut it if an opposing alliance has an organized group farming. So I would also agree with pvp players complaining about the ones that drop in trials. (Dungeons, meh, those are easy, can even be farmed solo).

As for my last sentence about solo - Personally I prefer any sort of farming to mostly be a solo affair. I hate having to group up to farm something and deal with who gets what, who can stick around, who wants to run it x number of times, etc. I'd rather anything like this drop from content that is soloable. But that's just me. When I get on with friends, I'm going to play what we want to do, whether its pvp or trials or whatever and don't need some sort of grind behind playing with friends. The grinds, though I don't enjoy them, are something I'd rather do solo. At least most of the dungeons can be done solo if one wants. And IC will probably be more manageable once things die down a bit on the leads.
