Will old mythic items be removed from game and made crown store purchases?

This appears to be another avenue for them to make money.

What if each major patch has a new set of mythics and the old ones are removed?

People will stay subbed so they can farm the latest items

I'm 80% sure they will do this. Some of the mythics seem lacklustre, wait til you see the dlc ones!

Unless I've missed something, there is no evidence that ZOS plans to do that. So I think it's unwise to get outraged or upset on something that has not happened yet or has no indication of happening.

What are you basing this off of? When has ZOS ever made a previous expansion's gear (or any gear) available for purchase when a new expansion comes out? Or ever?

If in a few week's I can buy Elsweyr gear or Summerset Gear or Morrowind gear you'll have a point. Otherwise take off the tinfoil and stop blowing smoke.

Whatever Chapter is after Greymoor there'll probably be a new "best in slot" mythic (and gear set and blah blah blah). That seems to be how they market each Chapter.

Pretty much this. Zos has not demonstrated anything to indicate they would move any actual gear to the crown store. No reason to get upset about something when there is nothing to signify it will ever happen.

Actualy no, the mythic items are not BiS, they are situational or fun to use. And the new sets are not that great. Sets like False God are still very strong.

    Don’t give any ideas :#

Doubt they would do this, tbh. It simply would be counter productive to the new chapter and DLCs to come after....

    Yeah.

    No.

ZOS has done a lot of things but thus far, the only gear to have ever been sold was a Pay-To-Lose weapon and helmet in the form of the broom and bucket.

Before you ask those, yes, those were indeed items with stats that can be equipped in weapon/armour slots. They were not mere skins.

Also they were equivalent to level 1 gear. So useless.

If anything they will nerf/buff the mythics. Much easier.

I have previously played a P2W Gameloft game, and this is what they would do. Its not as uncommon as you would think.

I wonder what made you think of that.
Such a thing never happened, yet you fear it? Why?

Eso has never went down the pay to win route.

The publisher/developer is unlikely to go this route because they instead typically practice more subtle methods of psychological trickery and manipulation to sell customers so-called "optional" purchases. I mean, the mythic items as they are incorporated currently already up require additional purchases beyond Greymoor to complete anyway. That's the sort of stuff they do. They do more obvious stuff too, but apparently customer-unfriendly business practices have gotten so normalized over the past decade it gaming that many customers don't realize (or care) they're being had. What's stupid is that it doesn't need to be this way - this game could make plenty of money without those practices.

I don't see the point in them adding it to the crown store. Imagine the P2W outrage from players if they did.

And it would blow over like everything else has that's pay-to-win in the cash shop NOW but not recognized correctly as such (or at the very least, equally problematic). Also, as mentioned, customers already have to make additional purchases to complete several mythic items. That's really not much different than putting them in the cash shop. It's just a sneakier way of doing it, whether or not that was the intention behind it.

And The Reptilians may reveal themselves tomorrow and let us know that Bigfoot killed Jimmy Hoffa and stashed his body in the same secret compartment of the Great Pyramid of Giza that Elvis has been living in since faking his own death.

That doesn't mean it is likely, and it doesn't mean there is anything to indicate that it is anything but baseless and arbitrary speculation.

(Although The Reptilians are real. But that is besides the point)

They will never put gear in the crown store. But they might make leads purchasable in the crown store, as "convenience".

Be real, that wouldn't happen. The aliens from Alpha Centauri would have to admit they failed in their experiment. They would have to release the poisonous gas on the planet and start again, just like they did with the Dinosaurs.

…..Anyway OP, why would they sell something that mostly requires purchasing chapters and DLC's to complete? You think the Crown store isn't making money or something?

I'd never say never with this company if the move would increase their profits. I thought we would never see something like skill points and skill lines in the cash shop. Well, it happened, and it's disgusting. And also not much different than selling gear in the cash shop in terms of circumventing normal progression.

You'd have a point if you didn't have to earn those things legitimately on at least one character before you could buy them for alts.

ESO isn't p2w. If you want to see actual p2w go play any of Cryptic Studios' current games or some Korean MMO's then come back.

Guys, I also heard that ZOS will make Scrying and Excavating to increase to Level 50 next chapter, which requires Level 50 to scry the next batch of mythic items. You heard from me; and I also think it will happen in this game. Also, I have a sense that we will have mercenaries to help us fight in trials bought from the crown store, so we don't need 11 other players, we can solo it for good especially for hardmode, no death, speedrun - pay 2 win baby!
