I was originally not sure, but now I feel hyped to explore the world again.

Finding leads all over and it's very exciting! Additions like this are the best!

Have been experimenting with scrying/excavation since yesterday, and so far I really like it.

I do wish they would drop more leads from excavating(bonus items), and would love to see leads drop randomly and often from regular monsters.

It's alot of fun until you reach the Legendries, which are all broken.

I like the variety. I was in the middle of nowhere in an inn and just felt the need to try something I don't do. So I picked a lockbox in the inn and got a lead for a music box. Now I feel excited to do stuff I normally didn't before. :o

I like this system. The only things that bother be are broken legendaries, and time of their fix, since leads expire after a month. Also, I think, that there are way too many skillpoints needed for new skillines. Veteran players should be ok, but new players might be uncomfortable, choosing between crafting skills, battle skills, passives and antiquities.

That's a good point. I was under the impression that this addition was aimed towards new players.
A veteran player probably have done most, if not all, content already. Leaving them to a very grindy experience.
However for a new player this addition would enrichen the world, with more things to do, like the OP said "So I picked a lockbox in the inn and got a lead for a music box. Now I feel excited to do stuff I normally didn't before" (I'm not saying OP is new, it's simply an example to illustrate what I percieved would be a fairly common experience for a newer player).

But what you're saying would mean that the new player wouldn't really be able to experience this, due to the lack of skill points. So for what part of the playerbase is this new system aimed towards?
Is it the avarage guy, that ; logs in a few hours / week ; have done about half the quests ; running around without a long term goal in mind ; checking every crate for loot ; have done a few dungeons, but veteran dungeons seems too difficult ; managed to play for about 2-3 years. Is that the player this addition mainly was made for?

If that's the "avarage eso player" I'd like to know more about what the avarage player is like, since it could potentially explain a lot of decisions done by ZOS.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Outside of the lowest tier stuff, are any of the other relic hunts repeatable? Beyond the times needed to fill the codex for the item, that is.

No, they are not repeatable outright, but you can find blue leads again, by doing green ones. I was lucky to do that on Betnikh, green gave me blue lead, blue gave purple, second try of green lead gave same blue again, and third time was the same.

So, the blue and green leads can be found again indefinitely, but none of the others?

I mean lvl2 coalesensce makes scrying an absolute joke, and mythic excavations are often bugged.

The treasure items you can do as many times as you want, but for blue and purple you need to find the lead again.

    Same for furnisher.

Just started with it but so far I like it. The exploring has been fun. One of the leads took me to a place in Grahtwood I have never been. I even found a couple of quests to do. I thought I had been everywhere and did everything in that zone long ago.

So, assuming the blue and purple leads can be found again, they can be done over and over? The 5,000 gold per purple item is very useful.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun I had hunting for antiquities as well. Hoping for more mythics in future updates...

The purple leads labeled treasure in the antiquities tab are a one time thing. After you have finished it in each zone they will never come back. Only purple leads that you can get again are the funishing, mystic item leads, etc
