Could Characters Learn to Step Over 1 Foot objects
I'd love to see our agile fighters not get "stuck" on low level objects.
Maybe code slower movement when auto-stepping over 1 foot or smaller things. This way encouraging to jump over to keep the speed, but Characters still would be intelligent enough to complete these every day movement things without problems.
I had an opposite reaction running through Greymoor the other day. Launched like twelve feet into the air running over some corner piece of a boulder.
Jumping/vertical movement in this game is really bad. You stall a lot and lose momentum strangely. Wish they would clean it up and make it more intuitive. You either get stuck on tiny things that you shouldn't and then you try and jump over it and move like an inch forward and bounce off of the shin-high item.
How about when you're running and you jump to try and get over a rock or fence or something and instead of jumping over it you jump into it and proceed to slide to the side several feet before your momentum runs out and you fall to the ground?

Avid RPer. Hit me up in-game @Ras_Lei if you're interested in getting together for some arr-pee shenanigans!
This is really annoying when using line of sight in PvP. Several times I've had my character get stopped dead (literally) by a tiny piece of rubble sticking out of the ground.
So if you are wondering why PvPers jump around so much when running around obstacles - yeah, it's not done in order to look like a complete moron, but to prevent dying from geting stuck on unwalkable terrain.
I wish. I have a whole library full of games where it would sure be nice if I could just walk up some stairs.
swtor's Inquisitor seethe animation can self cancel if there's a pebble in the way.
Pick an Assassin's Creed game.
Tomb Raider games.
Dragon Age Inquisition.
BDO, DDO, GW 2, and it can go on, virtually any game I've played with a jump feature will make you use it at the oddest times...
How about when you're running and you jump to try and get over a rock or fence or something and instead of jumping over it you jump into it and proceed to slide to the side several feet before your momentum runs out and you fall to the ground?
Yes. This is my total favorite part of the game. I also like how you are frozen for the entire time. I don't want anyone to think that means that having my character stop for no apparent reason is not also fun. Especially when, upon inspection, I find a small rock in my path that must have a collision area the size of Vermont.
</sarcasm>
Anyway. If we did not have to jump around like rabbits, it would not be an Elder Scrolls game.

Awwww! this is definitely a pete peeve of mine in this game, hehe. What's even more annoying to me is that on a horse it's even more ridiculous. They can get tripped up over a pebble the size of a flee...
A foot? I was running up a wood plank ramp in Karwasten and my character insta-stopped at a point where one board was slightly higher than another like I ran into a wall...
There should be a way to tweak the physics so that anything less than X units does not register as an obstacle.
I constantly get stuck on things I can barely even see.
Not to mention NPC's all being NFL linebackers that can stop a horse and then casually push it out of the way. I hate that, NPC's should have their collision mechanics tweaked as well.
It would be nice if it at least diverted you left or right around an obstacle when it decides you can't step over it. Instead it just stops you dead and then when you try to jump over it you just go up and down because you're too close - I mean, it's just a pebble, it shouldn't need a run up! It makes such a faff of something you shouldn't even notice
The game is full of enough bugs as it is that make life harder than it should be, but jumping in general and getting hung up on scenery is just an 'icing on the cake' game mechanic that makes a player 'grrrr'....
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.
