Video comparison of the current overland lag with last patch's cyrodiil lag

After the launch of Greymoor, almost everyone in the game has experienced the insane lag, ability/action delay, ping spikes, etc plaguing most of the main zones in the game. What I feel most people do not realize is that this lag is the EXACT same as the lag that has been occurring in cyrodiil for years. When it is so bad that it interferes with simple things like mounting, questing, and trading in major zones, how do you think it affects an activity like PVP that revolves around combat?

We've gotten an update that supposedly the delay is caused by "too many people being logged in", and that we'll be receiving a hotfix tomorrow that'll solve or greatly improve the issues. This comes just days after the release of a patch.

Below are two videos; the first is a clip from cyrodiil last patch. This clip was taken in blackreach around 8pm on Saturday, May 16th. The population was less than 5 bars OVERALL, and I was in the middle of a field with no players nearby whatsoever. Take note of the abilities that do not fire, despite the animations beginning and the skill icons on the bar indicating the ability was activated. Also notice how the dark deal animation remains on my character for about 3-6 seconds before actually taking the mag cost and restoring the stamina, all the while preventing me from doing anything else. Finally consider that this is in an unpopulated off campaign, not even the main campaign that remains full in the evenings and overnight.

This second clip was taken in stormhaven around midnight on May 28th, after the release of greymoor. Notice the EXACT SAME delays and general lack of functionality as the first clip.

If ZOS can address and potentially solve this issue in overland zones within days of it becoming an issue, why can they not do the same for cyrodiil when it has been that way for years?

Simple, cyrodiil player base is the minority = less money. Speculation right, but what else could it be? Idk

Probably because most new players at the lower end of their potential spending curve are going to experience your second example long before the first.

I feel like this is a very accurate assumption, and that is just depressing. Regardless of how small the PVP population is currentley, it has remained that way because the overall experience has gotten worse every patch for years. I think that ZOS seriously underestimates how many people actually want to come back to eso for pvp, because those players never stick around long after each DLC due to seeing no performance improvements.

The game still has the potential to be one of the most successful pvp MMOs on the market if they would just take the time to fix the worst of the underlying issues. Some of the largest streamers are PVP players, there are clearly people interested in the activity.

It's just so frustrating to compare these two clips once you see the attention overland zone lag had received within days of the issue occurring. Pvp is on its last legs, and the only way to rejuvenate it is to fix the performance.

I know i shouldn't be, but i'm glad these "i don't know what you're talking about, my game runs just fine" players get to experience what we pvpers have to go through every time we go to Cyro.

Yeah, it's super frustrating when people write posts like that as if the issue is on the player's end. Just look at the posts in the non pvp sections of the forums with titles like "strange bugs occurring" and "odd lag in overland zones". These players aren't even aware that the same lag has been around for YEARS in cyrodiil, and has gotten worse every single patch. They see a complaint about abilities not working and they compare it to their performance at the dye station in reapers march, or their ability to fire a ballista at a wall amidst a massive group.
