Storm Calling is incredibly weak.

The only 2 useful abilities are the execute and blink and possibly Storm Form. Everything else feels so weak. The ultimate doesnt feel like im "Supercharging" myself I dont even see the difference in my basic uncharged staff attack only good thing about it is the AOE. Lightning flood is another useless ability, the damage is non-existent even when I have it the extra damage at the start. It also doesnt help that when I use the ultimate everything feels unresponsive. I need to mash the ability key just to get my character to cast them.
Am I using these spells wrong or whats happening here?

Ker.Rakb16_ESO✭✭✭True, Critical Surge is probably the most useless ability in the entire game. Just pure garbage.

Elyna✭✭✭✭Just tested my damage between Storm ult and normal attack, 3 less attacks. However, i still prefer basic attacks because it doesnt force me to mash the ability keys just to use them. Thats a problem to me.0

Crescent✭✭✭✭Basically the storm calling nukes suck. You use storm form and surge.
Lightning Splash/Flood would be a lot better if instead of being a synergy it was a detonation damage as the spell ends.0 -

Sleepydan✭✭✭I'm really enjoying critical surge, and most of the tree proper. Each tree had its niche nuke. Dark magic has a Cast time and knockdown. Summoning has a delay but good damage. Storm is an execute.

Hearts✭✭✭Overload - GREAT Ultimate, each hit does almost as much as a crystal shard and the AoE version of it is just OP, great for single target and AoE scenarios, has saved my life a loot.
Mages Fury - Great for Dungeons or mobs with high hp, its an extremely good execution spell doing 5 times more DPS than Crystal Shard when enemy is under 20% hp.
Lightning Form - It was good in Cyrodiil in lower levels but since then it has been replaced with Bolt Escape on my end. Spell Resistance is capped at 50% reduction so it could be good in some scenarios but not enough imo.
Lightning Splash - People are saying that its a good AoE spell, personally I use Impulse from the destruction staff. I cant say much about this.
Surge - This one in my opinion is the weak point, the added weapon damage from Surge isnt enough, using Crystal Shard with a Dark Exchange combination does about 50% more dps than this. Its lacking too much, not worth it.
Bolt Escape - My favorite spell, it outspeeds a horse, its fun to use and its a great retreat spell. The morphed version can spawn a ball of lightning that makes you immune against Spell Projectiles for 6.5 seconds. Thats OP, all you have to do is cast the spell every 6.5 seconds and you are immune against casters (pretty much).. too bad its bugged atm.
This is my intake on the spells, Personally, I use 3/6 of the spells in my actionbar at this moment.0 -

I would use overload more if it didnt make all my skills feel so delayed. Until they fix it, I'll stick to storm atronoch.0 -

That's funny because many Sorcerers would probably argue Surge (specifically Critical Surge) is the primary ability in their spec.
As for mid-combat weapon swapping, that is suicidal with the current 3-5 second weapon swap delay. I really hope they fix that soon, it is my number one problem with the game and it already got me killed countless times. (EU server being located in north America might be the source of this issue.)

Solomon_Cato✭✭I know people have attempted to answer this, but is there any concrete evidence on the effect of Surge and possibly Bound armor on the ultimate Overload? I have heard both sides of the story, and I have also heard that the attacks from Overload CANNOT critical hit, which kind of hinders Critical Surge a bit IMO.0

Comaetilico✭✭✭surge is an hell of a skill... that is if you use weapon based skill... since you know... "weapon damage" is not a stat used for class ability ^^'
also critical surge is one of the main asset of many dps sorc that seek a bit more survival... especialy for stamina based medium armor equipped sorc or for cloth caster with inner light... the amount of self heal generated by it is quite comical... on the other hand the morph for extended duration is a bit more of a situational skill... helpfull for healer (that won't get the benefit of critial surge but will still like for their resto skill to be pumped up) or for player that can't seem to find a spot for surge in their main bar and don't like to weapon swap often...
lightning splash... well this is the only skill I've removed from my bar at level 15 and almost never put back... ther eis plenty of aoe skill that are more powerfull or have additional effect... Impulse or fire rune both makes a better version of this skill... and while the synergy is a good thing it is hard to balance the usefulness of a skill only on that
