I guess that's true. I would have had no problem with widening the tier that can earn arena weapons and creating a new hard tier for perfected. That's the way AS works, and it works well enough.I doubt many here actually want the new weapon handed to them, I for one do not.
I felt this was a very lazy implementation of something that would be good for newer players. Have nMA and vMA drop the normal set, and put a little work in to make a hardmode for vMA to get the new perfected version. I doubt most people would complain about that, plus it gives those of us who have done vMA hundreds of times something new and interesting, even if it’s just recycling new content.

That scenario does make me realize that my core problem with the changes isn't about invalidating my past effort, though, despite my prior argument to that effect. I see the holes in that argument now.
My core problem I guess is really just the complete replacement of a tier. It seems like an unnecessarily heavy-handed refactoring of expectations with no purpose other than as a time sink, exactly like the loathed VR16 gear cap increase.
That's entirely my point. Yes, both scenarios invalidate past effort. But I'm fine with the AS structure and not fine with the way they handled vMA / vDSA. Therefore, invalidation of past effort is not what is bothering me.silvereyes wrote: »I guess that's true. I see that as the same argument. One is a consequence of the other.
