Hello everyone. For those who are not aware, I’ll try to bring you up to speed on this critical turning point in ESO’s history as an MMO.
In update 26, “Greymoor,” items that were previously only attainable in veteran arenas will now have to be re-aquired to gain their updated veteran version.
This is a concern due to the fact that it sets a precedent of tacking on “perfected” onto old content to make players need to redo old, subjectively boring content to aquire the better version of it despite the fact that they already own the veteran versions of the item.
With this patch, ZOS, for whatever reasons, be them noble, ignorant, or greedy, are dead set on encouraging old players to replay old content for the new perfected versions. Ok. The players will likely bite the bullet and increase their playtime hours. This time.
I will personally let this one slide, but if they start forcing min-max players to refarm old content for the sake of creating something new to farm, then we as the players need to make our voices heard.
I’ve been playing this game since beta, but if ESO loses its biggest advantage over other competing MMOs by becoming a quarterly grind fest, then I’m out. I have no interest in needing to aquire the same gear when it comes out, then again when they release its perfected version.
