Folks need to take a chill pill. There are much more important issues in the world. Spend your time, energy, and emotional investment protesting them.
As gaming is often an outlet for many, you don't want to come to play a game with the knowledge that things could've been done in a better way. There are already so many performance issues that players just don't want to have to have things taken away.
What exactly is being taken away here?
That's part of the issue, this is so emotionally loaded that while nothing is actually being taken away from anyone, it certainly feels as if individuals are being robbed of their time invested (and what that spells for the future with respect to other rewards/accomplishments/efforts) -- I think the 'taken away', however figurative or incorrect in literal terms, is the only way people know to describe that, and that only makes the debate harder to retain as instead of being a point to explain or build an argument on, it becomes one to question or hang counterpoint against. However, previous posters have put elegantly into words exactly what is meant by that out of context phrase, and I think it's disingenuous at this point in the thread to circle back to that pin prickling again.
"I have invested time completing normal maelstrom arena before. Zos should give me normal maelstrom arena weapons."
Do those of you who dont like the current implementation agree with this statement?
The difference being that normal has never dropped weapons. Weapons were only available in vet and all existing weapons are the vet rewards. Until U26.
The same as veteran has never dropped perfected weapons as the reward. Until U26.
What im getting is that people are hurt that their semi-exclusive weapons will now be more accessible to newer players.

wrong VMA weapons used to be almost identical to the "new" perfected versions but were then nerfed, the new perfected is just a rework of the weapons we already had and got nerfed

Wanting to min/max while also not wanting to grind for it is just a poor way of thinking that will leave you disappointed in most games. If you don't want to min/max, then why do you care? Play the game for what makes it fun and don't worry about grinds you don't want to do. Those are really the only two realistic outlooks. Anything else is just causing yourself undue burden.

He's probably thinking the same about the community.
Look at how quickly forum trolls are all over topics here and they quickly devolve intoLook at how quickly threads get shut down and why. How the forum behaves is probably why ZOS doesn't like communicating and discussing with us and just limit themselves to pronouncements. They are taking the high road by not feeding the trolls.
- people with nothing to say but just wanting to type something clever
- people just there to mock the OP or other posters
- people who don't bother reading but jumping in to type unrelated rubbish
- people who bash and bait, etcetera
ZOS_RichLambert made a mistake by talking to a player. People don't like the response so they take to the forums to crucify him.
Same when he made a meant-to-be-funny comment about the forums melting down in "end of the world" mode when a mess of PTS changes were on the way. The forum applied their double standard and vilified him too.
Stinks of online bullying.
He's right. Just because you bought a 2018 car doesn't mean you get the 2020 model when it comes out.
Traditionally is a game with levels, all gear becomes worthless when a new expansion comes out. ESO does not use traditional level system, but that doesn't mean you get the new stuff handed to you.

Forum was way more polite and positive just a year ago, when Elsweyr was going to be released. Most tension was in stamNB vs magsorc discussions. ZOS told us there will be communication, ZOS told us about class representative program. I remember after hilarious changes of U23, class reps were preparing documents where they gathered community feedback on balance changes. Where is all that now?
Most what we receive is "Hey, gang" once per update. Thanks to Brian at least for that.
If ZOS decided to not upgrade those weapons, they should've bring reasonable explanations. If they want us to re-run VMA, VDSA, they should've add something new to this arenas, new mechanics, new bosses, new levels and perfected gear as reward for those levels. In that case nobody will object.
None of these make any sense to me. I'm really trying to see your point of view, but I'm just scratching my head. What does any of this have to do with restructuring reward tiers for vet content?Dusk_Coven wrote: »Shouldn't that go both ways?silvereyes wrote: »It's that ZOS is arbitrarily telling us that we needn't have bothered challenging ourselves with vet arenas before tomorrow, because we could have gotten the exact same reward by waiting and doing much easier content. If they overtuned something that made content too easy, the achievements should be removed?
Like everyone who relied on Necromancer when it was overtuned.
Or everyone using the animation cancelling glitch.
What if vMA is harder now because of skill and set changes since it was released? Would you destroy your current weapon earned when it was easy, to re-earn it all over?

Seems players are only too happy to exploit ZOS's mistakes and changes.
Wanting a free upgrade is just trying to reframe the situation from entitlement to victim.

If BiS is not an issue then the issue is that their hard earned weapons will be available to all "peasants".
Now that, while psychologically understandable, is truly laughable.
Your argument is laughable. I am happy for my friends who can't beat vMA currently because the weapons will help. Most of them take my advice in high regard and understand that vMA is a proving ground that will teach a player to persevere and in the end will make them a much better player. This is an issue of devaluing time and nothing more.
People keep talking about devaluing time... its an mmo inwhich grind plays a heavy part. If you truly value your time so much, then you wouldn't be playing the game in the first place.
ESO was always known as MMO which is less grindy than most others, which is one of things it's valued for. If it's going the route of adding more stupid repetitive grind, then indeed there's way less incentive to play it over other MMOs, simple as that.
