so I love how this game has "Random RNG" let me explain further I have started out on PC a few weeks back, and hit CP a week or two ago and now finally I can have some survivability in vet dungeons. So I did COA to get my skoria helmet. Which is the only monster helmet I currently own until today when I got a maw of infernal helmet, now as I used up 9 undaunted keys to get the shoulder for it, I find it funny it gave me EVERY other shoulder piece of a monster set that I did NOT have the helmet to! Is this really RNG? Or does some calculation go up based off of what you have in your inventory to decrease your odds? Lol I just find this simply hilarious as to how it's random RNG at this point. I should of tried to use 5 keys to unlock that specific shoulder piece however I did not have 5 keys to use. Just thought I would share this "RNG" LOL

✭It's totally random but I feel your pain.
Once got the piece I needed on first try (Grothdarr divines medium). Gave me some false optimism about drop rates. Then it took me about 30 keys to get one Selene drop in a bad trait. This was when they used chests but imagine RNG works the same.Edited by Stanx on May 15, 2020 11:43PM0 -

I doubt it very much that RNG is the best solution for item drops.

✭✭No way RNG is random in ESO. Algorithm most of the time drops trash so that you keep on farming.
e.g, Burning Spellweave Inferno staff is one of the most sought after staves in the game. And guess what? Drop rates are ridiculously low.4 -

Yeah, lately I've begun to doubt that, too. It's not quite the same but remember that two times in the last few months/weeks the Golden had the exact monster helmets that were due for a nerf, such as Iceheart (I don't quite recall the other one, since it was something that I personally don't use, but I know that I saw people in the weekly "What does the Golden sell?" thread being ticked off about it).
RNG, as the name says, should be completely random, but sometimes there seem to be too many "coincidences" that seem to imply otherwise. Maybe they're really nothing but coincidences, but... you never know.This poor little Bosmer stealth passive had passionate friends and a big loving family!1 -

Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.***Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...

✭✭✭✭✭Once long long ago I got extremely lucky over the course of about an hour. Got a weapon I wanted with the trait I wanted found a rare recipe in an urn and something else. I came here and gloated in the forums and didn't get anything but trash after that for what I thought was an exceptionally long period of time.
Now I keep my good luck to myself so as not to draw the attention of the deities that control the ebb and flow of RNG.and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."0 -
