Dual wield PVP viability ideas

I will preface this with saying I only use dual-wield I have used two-hander as well. However, I have a tendency to try and avoid the meta. Yes that is my fault I do understand this.

HOWEVER, when you look at the actual numbers and the actual passives granted there is really no argument to be made that 2H in PVP is far superior... and no not because of Dizzying Swing that is only a part of the problem.

The passives alone from the 2H tree allow the player to leverage the HUGE stamina regen increase.
  • 10% from Rally
  • 30% from striking a killing blow using a 2H
  • If they also have major endurance (from a potion or skill) it pushes their regen to 60%; see DK GDB ability lol).

Now what this does coupled with a cheaper execute is pretty much enable them to forgo any worry about regen on gear. This is why most players are running all infused jewelry with weapon damage glyphs, pairing it with high weapon damage sets. Average health pool is around 20-25k in BGs, average Dizzying hits for 3-5k (on me at least with high armor and applying minor maim always), you can do the math of how many attacks it would take before they are in execute range (aka most likely going to lose the fight).

Now to the other aspect:
  • 2H execute is far cheaper than Whirling Blades and hits harder on a single target
  • 2H spammable hits harder and has CC
  • 2H has the best emergency stamina heal in the game
  • 2H Ultimate is one of the best ultimates in PVP. Dual Wield ult is an absolute joke... and curable,

Now this is not asking for 2h to be nerfed. Instead buff up dual-wield.
  • Flurry (all versions): Inflicts 50% of the total damage caused by this ability as incurable bleed damage over 4 seconds.
  • Whirlwind: If you kill a target with the ability you restore 75% of the ability cost over 10 seconds.
  • Rend: Increase range to 10x10, lower bleed time to 12 seconds keep damage the same. IE instead of 50,000 over 16 seconds, 50,000 over 12 seconds.
  • Thrive in Chaos: Increase range to 12m cone, lower bleed time to 6 seconds keep damage the same. IE instead of 27,000 over 8 seconds, 27,000 over 6 seconds.

    The only reason 2h is far superior IMO is because of Rally - on-demand burst healing is a big deal in PvP, and DW doesn't have pre-buff Major Brutality for some stupid reason.

    For some reason this editor cut off some text also:
    • Shrouded Dagger: Increase range to 28 meters, add a 30% snare for 5 seconds. Keep brutality, keep CC function.
    • Flying Dagger: Teleport to target (one button press), 3 second immobilize and silence, if the target is casting they are instead interrupted, set off-balance and stunned for 5 seconds.

    DW abilities are not viable since the begining of the game.
    It has received weak buffs that never made an impact. Dont hold your breath

    I’ve messed with some things that are fun sacrificing DPS for survivability running a double infused with an absorb stamina enchant on my main hand and an absorb health on my off hand using the Bloosthirst and Blood Craze morphs of the skills. It allows you to stand in there and burst a little longer if you can keep a heal over time up as well.

    You’ll still die a lot though but if your teammates are any good they can finish off any opponent you’ve softened up. It’s more of a kamikaze build but it’s fun to go full berserker on someone when you don’t care about k/d ratio.

    But I’m also the guy that played battlefield and COD for years with a rocket launcher and a shotgun. And would run into a room full of guys with a live grenade for the lolz!

    Add a snare at the first hot of Flurry kinda like D swing. I suggested that a year ago and they put it on D-swing, or add 15% increase movement speed for 2 seconds while channeling.

    DW is not viable in PvP , yet it's the go-to for hybrid builds...go figure...

    Actually draugrkin builds use flurry for serious burst.

    Problem is if you buff Flurry, it will outDPS all class abilities in PvE. For e.g., already stamblades are forced to use Flurry over Surprise Attack to be relevant.

    Yeah I was tempted to run that when I first saw that set I instantly saw Flurry, dots with poisons to be insane pressure. I farmed it and never put it on lol.

    If ZoS introduce a new debuff that lowers enemy's crit resist and give it to some PvE only skills, they can balance these skills for PvP.

    Add this to boht morps of flurry and Some crit builds will start to use it.

    That is actually a really good idea.
