Dungeon Drops or Sheogorath torturing you!

There is a reason I love crafted gear. I swear the more I am trying to hunt down specific gear sets in dungeons or across the vast stretches of Tamriel the less likely I am going to get the drop I want. Hunting for some Sanctuary gear, here have some more Tormentor....I mean a lot more. There is an AI which hears you talking as you play and it determines what you are hunting for so cranks up the odds on the other sets, often with divines just to get you. Want a Monster shoulder, turn in keys and get the opposite shoulder 6 times in a row. Pretty sure this is real!

It spurs me on! Happy Hunting fellow adventurers!

Thats why you are able to trade items in dungeon - tell the group what you want, they will tell what they have from boss and give it to you if you need.

I did 17 Icereach runs in 2 days and farmed ll parts of titanborn i wanted.

Uncle Sheo is not torturing you. He's just amusing himself. If it feels like torture to you, that's just icing on the cheese.

I have a large enough sample size from gear farming to be fairly convinced that the drops are indeed random, and not in any devious "artificial unintelligence" manner biased towards dropping the wrong thing.

However, one person I used to play with would disagree based on his own experiences: he ended up rage quitting the entire game after running his 50th farm run through Lair of Maarselok (no kidding, 50 runs, I was there for maybe 10-15 of them and he did nothing else in the game for two weeks) and still not having seen a single one-handed Azureblight weapon of *any* kind drop for *anyone* in the groups he ran with. The bitter irony is that I got at least two 1H weapons from there when I ran with others, so from my point of view the statistics are balanced. As for him from his perspective, not so much.

With so many players in the game, some people will be unlucky, and they will complain and be very vocal about it. Against that background, it would be nice if there was a way to get a guaranteed drop for some specific item after you completed a crazy amount of unsuccessful farm runs. A direct example would be if the person I described got a voucher after his 50th run which could be redeemed for one item of choice from the possible drops in that dungeon. 50 runs is brutal, and perhaps that number is a bit too high, but having even that ludicrously small return of investment would have made him stay in the game.

Random drops make people spend more time with the game, I get it, but breaking the randomness beyond a certain point helps only the most extremely unlucky minority, in a way that gives them no unfair advantage, and does not noticeable affect the average drop rate.

I've been trying to get Lokke daggers since the summer, I kid you not! It's definitely Sheogorath's doing, no one would be so sadistic...

Yes trading does help! I just find it funny sometimes how the odds play out. I really am not meaning to complain just a little sarcasm.

I ran CoH more than 150 times with no ebon cuirass or girdle. I was in an outlaw's refuge (I think Shornhelm) and saw an old BOE girdle and snatched it up. I severely overpaid, but at least I had 1. The very next run, I got 1 of my own. It took another 73 runs to get a cuirass. By then, I was able to solo the dungeon on normal in about 18 minutes.

So, you see, Uncle Sheo was just teaching me patience and helping me to improve my game play. True story.

I'm only semi-dedicated at dungeonering, so I'm usually more amused than annoyed when all I'm getting for a desirable set are shoulders, helms, gear slots I already have/am using for other sets and weapons that horribly mismatch the build they're made for.

After 30+ runs of City of Ash I have yet to acquire a Burning Spellweave Inferno staff. I've gotten a powered resto staff, infused lightning staves, defending ice staves, etc, etc, etc.... Even a whole set of divines and impenetrable BSW armor..... That staff though eludes me.

17 runs of the same Dungeon, i think i would have gauged my eyes out from boredom. Well done with putting up with it to get what you want tho.Nothing like getting enjoyment from running the same content again and again and agian and again......

I would love if there was no bind on pick up, open the game up to bind on equip. Everything tradeable and sellable. Ducking behind some crates now before the arrows are loosed!

There needs to be a token system. If you beat a dungeon hardmode you get 1 token. After you have a certain amount, you can take a portal to a room with a series of chests that each have a random-traited drop of each set piece in the dungeon and you can pick one.

A token system would be one way to go for sure. The grind can take the fun out of it sometimes.
