What quality of life changes would you like to see to make Nightblades Viable again?

    Remove cast times from their ultimates and fix cloak so it doesn´t break to things that shouldn´t break it.

    Such a simple fix. They have no clue how clunky and slow this class is now.

    By the way people talk about them, its very clear Nightblade isn't in a good place and people don't want them for content or pvp battle grounds. That they need a rework to make them viable for things that way they are desirable for content.
    Given Werewolves are getting their mojo back what changes can they do to give Nightblades their mojo back and make things better for them? Because right now its clear they do need these quality of life changes.
    I'm not sure about mechanics or how bad it is though one of my character is a bow wielding, nightblade werewolf.
    So what do they need to do to make Nightblades better?
    What changes do they need to do to buff them up and make them something people actually want to be grouped up with?
    How do you think they should go about it? How do they fix the Nightblade?

    They should combine Shadowy Disguise and Dark Cloak into a single move. ^^

    Remove the hidden cast time from ambush, and add a dot to ambush to put it more in line with lotus fan.

    Work more area damage into the NB kit, or buff the damage off single target NB abilities... my templar has higher tooltips on AOE attacks than my NB does on single target...

    that would all be nice

    i also think the nb spammable should be reworked...feels like an afterthought now...

    It's crazy. My necromancer can just DO so many things. My magblade and stamblade use weapon and guild skills and very few nightblade skills. . . so I have no passives as well.

    Nightblade is far beyond just QOL changes. It needs either fundamental changes, or straight buffs. I've been around since 2015, and with every.single.update. it's just Nightblade nerfs, or changes which are detrimental in some way

      One day Nightblades will get the buffs we desperately need and deserve, but so far, those buffs are not today.. The Elder Scrolls Online: Nightblade Nerfs Unlimited.

      • Return Stam builds to the power we held in One Tamriel. Long Live Stamina builds!

      1. Increase the Cost of the Assassination Ultimate to 100 but restore the "original" effect where Damage scales off of how much Ultimate you have stored, damage can increase by 50% for every 100 ultimate up to a maximum of 250% extra damage at 500 ultimate, if that is too much then 25% per 100 Ultimate up to a maximum of 125%.

      2. Fix Cloak so it does not pull you out of single target attacks, make it so cloak for its 3 second duration cannot be broken by anything with the exception of AoE and Stealth Detection abilities.

      3. Get rid of whatever that ability that used to be a CC is that is now a heal that costs health that I imagine that no one uses. if ZOS insists on it being a heal then make it a channel similar to mend wounds but have it provide minor protection to the caster and minor protection to the one being targeted

      4. Reduce the amount of light attacks needed on Merciless Resolve and whatever the other morph is called back down to 4.

      5. Buff the execute, maybe make it apply Minor Defile if the target is above the amount of health required to trigger the bonus damage.

      1. Either increase the damage, damage reduction, or healing in the class

      2. Make buffs not dependent on skills that need targets if you will balance the class and keep those buffs in mind (minor mending on offering...lol)

      3. Stop balancing the class around proc sets and cloak: I don't know a single NB that likes this

      4. NB should also get a passive that increases DoT damage IMO since nearly every skill is dodgeable in the kit, that needs to be compensated in some way

      5. Remove or reduce the cast time on tether and soul siphon -- both skills have a delay already built into the skill, and the added cast time makes the skill's real time to cast around 1.5 to 5 seconds or no cast at all depending on lag, despite the animation playing. In the case of tether you cannot be healed until the damage ticks, and the stun is not applied until after the first heal tick, so that makes the skill pretty much unusable for all purposes. If not gonna remove the cast time here, then the skill's code needs to be looked at and improved.

      6. Skills that deal damage and heal can have their healing moved to % hp. This would improve healing for NBs in PvP where people will build some decent amount of health, and in PvE it won't lead to a repeat of all NB groups unless those NBs take a damage cut.

      Give them a passive boost to disease damage, say 5% at 2 skill points. This would not only boost some of their Stam skills but would make them the class for werewolves. IDK that's as far outside the box I can figure.

      I would like to see the following: remove cast time from incap, remove the landing delay from the arrow proc of relentless focus/merciless ressolve and bring back the minor berserk, change the flank/back pen buff from surprise attack, to a flat weapon damage buff, and make the animation of swallow soul smoother/less clanky to weave with.

      And then from default, they can only get fatter and taller or fatter and shorter.

      I’ll be in the minority here and say Stamblade is in a really good spot. Anyone saying or crying foul just hasn’t gotten good. 1v1 they are still very strong, 1vX yeah it’s a little harder (but anyone 1vXing are hitting pugs, looking for players they no are crappy, or noobs, anyone saying otherwise is full of something, not that it’s not possible but very rare), NB also has some great utility for group play if that’s your sort of thing. BG is ok, but that’s probably their weakest point, you can still compete but you have to be at the top of your game. Also StamBlade has a variety of builds it can accommodate.

      Now. Mage Blade is a whole different story. They definitely could use some love — they do have some great strengths, but most mage blades have gone Caluurions + whatever, bomber, or max mag pool. Magicka NB needs some major love.

      Khajiit, I disagree with and am a little wary of your "get good" replies. I have been a nightblade main for 5 years. This is the worst the class has been. The fact that we can't play in entire game systems like Battlegrounds or that group members in PVE groan when you show up with your Magblade means something is off.

      Yeah you can "get good" but it is a broken system when a veteran player is average on a nightblade while an average player is nearly unkillable on a stamcro or stamden.

      When I play my stamcro, I am highly successful but I miss the nightblade. I play Elderscrolls games to be a stealthy character. It sucks that I am at a severe disadvantage playing the class that I identify with.

      I feel bad when a rank 25 nightblade pulls a perfectly executed attack and I just blastbone, dizzy, ult them down in two seconds because I have been there.

      This is not a post against necros--I love mine--it is just sad that the balance is so bad.


      I repeat:

      1) Get rid of nightblade cast times.

      2) Fix cloak

      3) Make Nightblade skills very slightly stronger than their weapon/armor skill counterparts (Execute is better than killers blade, shuffle is better than blur, accelerate offers a more consistent buff than grim focus). As of now, my nightblade hardly slots nightblade skills. I use siphoning strikes and cloak in pvp.

      TBH: they'd have to nerf "universal" sources of burst damage before they'd consider dragging Nightblade back out of the gutter. They've continuously been adding more strong sources of burst(proc sets, 2h ult, etc) over the last few years. They don't want NBs "one shotting" people from stealth. NBs can one shot people from stealth by combining these universal options with their class abilities, so in response, they nerf the NB specific sources of burst. This leaves NB specific tools feeling like absolute garbage.

      Can I see a video of a 1 shot stealth snipe against a full-level opponent? That doesn't happen. I have done 2-shots to really undergeared and low-level opponents, but one shot? I am not disbelieving, I would actually like to see that! (2019-2020 please).

      For me, peak ESO was Clockwork City. Some really interesting PVE content started coming out where devs were really getting into some unique dungeons. The Clockwork DLC was geared towards the nerdier, hardcore crowd of yesteryear with the deep-lore references that really made you read the dialogue.

      BUT (relating to the thread), there was a great balance between classes that happened when they developed the Warden and started looking at Battleground data.

      Literally any class could do well at that point.

      So fun... Oh yeah, that reminds me. What was fun?

      1) No cast times
      2) NB skills that had a purpose and worked for that purpose (Like soul siphon and relentless focus)

      NB doesn't need any buff , all they need is class change token .

      ZOS nerfed a PVP focused class , why don't removed NB from PVP ?

      I`d like the Cast Times away from the ultimates. ZOS, if you read this by any chance and the other threads about this same issue.. you know the Cast times should be yeeted since they just make NB combat clunky and not fun. Playing NB should be fun like any other class. Now it is often frustrating and using class ultimates makes one feel sad and most often just replaces them with guild/weapon ultimates.

      Surely the power fantasy of being a Nightblade means using also Nightblade ultimates to like.. feel you are playing a Nightblade instead of a Stamsorc-wannabe with couple NB skills for passives on bars.

      I know Vampire will give some interesting things for NB, what will be nice.

      Secondly, give our Minor Berserk back in some skill that it feels useful to have on your bar without being just some clunky gimmick and semi-waste of a skill slot.

      Also, our Fear is now VERY poor compared to the universal Fear Evil that any class has access to.. Please give our Fear some small utility on it, since Fear Evil has Minor protection and stam regen boost on top of it.. NB Fear feels so inferior. Give it Minor Breach and Minor Fracture as an example. Would be nice for PVE NB tanks too and atleast small damage boost for PVP NB so would give some small group utility to give. Currently NB not give much to a group. So even something small would be cool. Not asking anything OP here, just something for us NB enthusiast to feel a bit better after our tool kit being slowly made less effective, clunky and not so fun to play anymore.

      If nothing else, i a gain /kneelpray: please remove cast time from atleast the Soul Siphon (heal morph of the tether ulti). It feels sad to use, when most times it does not work/trigger at all in a hectic combat. I thank you for your consideration dear awesome Combat Team. Yes, i try to be all nice and polite about this, but these are serious pain points to us so: PLZ HALP. <3
