OP, you have been a big fan of this expansion from the very start - at least in the threads I've seen you start. I'm glad it works for you!

    What I see:
    no worthwhile Mag. DPS set
    an unplayable Cyrodiil
nerfs to old equipment to make new equipment look better
    increased loading screen times
inability to log into EU server half the times I try (I usually play on NA)
    skill de-syncs
a vampire skill line that no longer works for me
a werewolf skill line that is an improvement on the current state, but worse than a year ago
a whole range of combat changes that make play less fun but somehow have also hurt performance

So... pass. I still haven't found something I want to play more, but every update, I want to play this less.

My question was whether I should buy the normal edition or the collector's edition. After having seen that the Orb of Magnus is indeed just a silly animation and no vampire concealing memento, I decided to purchase the standard edition.

I also think it is worth the base price from what I have experienced thus far. The treasure hunting system is a big point for me.

Yeah, at first I thought it was a special item that hid your gross vampire appearance, but it's literally just a memento that makes it look like you're burning in the sun. Great for roleplayers, I guess.

In any case, I ended up going for the collectors edition because I had excess funds lying around. Quarantine has been surprisingly friendly to my wallet. Personally I don't think it's really worth it unless you want to go full RP with the death hound looking mount and the AHHH THE SUN, IT BURNNSSSS memento as a Vampire.
If I'm honest, I really went for the Collectors edition because I thought it came with Elsweyr, but that's only if you buy the full game with the collectors edition and not the upgrade, so my bad there.
Greymoor on its own? Yeah definitely, grab it. OP crafting sets, beautiful Blackreach, nicely designed delves, Harrowstorms were an awesome experience. Picture large dank anchors, but instead there's giant twisted spires coming from the ground, a circling red sky, Vampire Lords, Werewolves on steroids and other assortments of mobs.
Then obviously the antiquity system. Yes it's a fair bit of a grind, but for some weird reason I had fun with it, and the items you can find are quite nice. It's the first time we've been able to earn a new mount in game (I hope they do more of this btw). Then you've got the Mythic items as well.

tl;dr; Greymoor is absolutely worth it, but the standard edition will be all you need imho.

I ended up pre-ordering the collectors edition for the Death Hound mount and pet, as well as the Jarl FInery costume. It was all really cool items that I wanted. And when the PTS finally came around and I experienced new vampire, antiquities, and the new zones, I can honestly say Im happy with my purchase. Harrow storms are fun and engaging, I love using the new vampire abilities, and this unseen part of Black Reach is honestly amazing. Im definitely looking forward for this hitting the live servers

Well when you compare it to other MMOs and what their expansions offer and how much it costs compared to ESO you dont exactly get that much value of the money you spent sadly.

I always found it hilarious that if you look at a WoW expansion, all the dungeons are contained within it. In ESO, there's two dungeon DLCs, both with collector's editions, a chapter with collector's editions, and then another zone dlc.Why the blazes isn't that all one DLC?

Pretty sure that the answer is that WoW requires a sub and ESO doesn't. You do get access to the DLCs with ESO+.

Still wavering on whether to purchase the chapter based on performance issues.

Nice. I'm glad to,hear that the lore is interesting and the quests are good!

I'm still going to wait and buy it on sale because I can't quite justify spending the same price as Elsweyr and Morrowind for a chapter that makes less gameplay changes than Summerset.

Yes same. I love writing in thia game and I don't doubt the story will be great. But it's not worth 40 dollars thats a full game price. I can wait for sale.

    It doesn't worth it
If I'd buy a chapter I'd expect that chapter to belong to a healthy game, not a game where I write my user ID and password every 15 minutes because crashes

Good luck buying greymoor, that will work
But *playing* greymoor? Lol better luck next time

Well when ESO did require a sub we got even less content so that argument doesnt work

I just can't reconcile the price of it (especially given what we've seen of it and the ongoing performance issues). Every year the chapters get a higher price tag, this is to be expected as part of inflation (~1.5%), but we're talking about 30-40% price increase.

Elsweyr Digital Collectors Edition Upgrade: £35
Greymoor Digital Collectors Edition Upgrade: £45
    Elsweyr Digital Upgrade: £25
    Greymoor Digital Upgrade: £35

Why is the Greymoor standard upgrade the same price as Elsweyr collector edition?

OP states, "yes it's worth it". What about it justifies the price hike over previous chapters?

I'm still voting with my wallet...since like January 2019... lol... for all the good that's done!

The problems that led me to stop paying have only gotten worse since then. Much of the game isn't even functioning as intended anymore. How anyone can justify continuing to pay for any of this is beyond me.

I guess have fun with your Halloween RP!

Greymore will be the last money I spend with ZOS/Bethesda on ANY game, EVER, if performance is not addressed.

It's not reasonable to have faith in a company that treats its customers this poorly.

We have to stop giving Zenimax our money or they will not fix anything...because from their perspective they are a total success. They are still getting paid as though everything is fine in game.

Zone is very beautiful, Morthal is the best place I've ever seen in a game in my opinion. I like the main quest and antiquities systems too.
A bit disappointed about vampire state (20% cost class skills increase is too much).
Disappointed about housing, we will have another castle and a house in solitude, both beautiful... But honestly they miss the opportunity to have a real snowy house.
Oh and performance issue need to be solved.

Off topic: yes, I'm still hoping for 2021 to have at least a new magicka based weapon. 6 years with 2 weapons, resto and destro. Starting to be nauseated by see those stick on my back, start to be boring . My stamina characters have a lot of choice compared to magicka.

Very doubtful about taking it. It won't be immersive like a Skyrim, performance may not be addressed and it's rather expensive, yes.

I suppose it's another grab for items mostly -> P2W? *runs and hides*

Perfprmance issues and bad bussines practices (adding OP stuff, nerfing old stuff) made me shy away from purchasing it.

Same happened with summerset and elsewheyr too. Morrowind wasnt like that.

Aye it was. Whilst all other classes got their sustain dramatically reduced, the warden class had unlimited stam for a very long period of time. That little jelly fish thing was op asf. I played a warden for a day or two and it never clicked with me, so I'm unsure of the actual skill names. But you basically never ran out of stam. Like all dlc areas. Morrowind also has its lag too.

There is more to a content release than lore and quests. ZOS has been pretty consistent with the lore and questing since Orsinium. This is not new and while they should always be praised for their continued commitment to quality in that regard. They have let other aspects of game quality slip farther than they should have ever been allowed. And its on these issues, predominantly peformance, they should be graded on a new Chapter.

Focusing on lore and questing gives them a pass for their lack luster response to other issues the game is facing.

I am purchasing it, simply because I want to play through the quests with a very good friend that I made a few months ago. The poor performance of the entire game weighs heavily on me but at the end of the day, spending time with her in game wins out over everything.

I have only been playing about a year or so and while i have had a pretty crappy experience overall where the performance of the game/server is concerned, the fun i have had and people i have met coupled with the great story-line, graphics and beautiful landscapes far outweigh the negatives.

I would like to say i am going to hold off until they fix whatever it is that is making playing the game a hardship performance wise, however my curiosity of the coming chapter will most likely make me reach for the purchase button.

I bought the DLC myself, I love it because of the similarity to Skyrim and the Devs have made better visuals. That being said, if the lag and desync`s continue then I will take a break and shut everything down, monitor the forum to see if things get better. I recently upgraded my Internet speed to 1Gig speed and still huge problems, so it`s up to ESO/ZOS to get things fixed. Thanks for the DLC, love it!

I have so many mounts and pets already... The only way it would entice me to spend a higher price tag for those is if we're talking about some truly unique crap, like a magic broom or something very weird like that. A rotting dog is nah.

Besides that, Greymoor is just the latest version of DLC map overpriced. It also has the antiquities system which I do respect for the love and work done to it. But it's not my thing.

So I'll just wait for some juicy disccount.
