Worth returning to play on Xbox NA?

Haven't played since the summer. How is the current state of the game? I enjoy battleground but hated how i felt there were no rewards or currency usage. How is the current state of combat & cyrodiil? Would you recommend someone coming back to play.

I just came back as well. Lots of new players including in BGs. BGs also is only solo que so they have been more enjoyable, at least for me. Desyncs are more of a thing now and not just because of snipe. Kinda hard to explain if you havent experienced it yet. Cyrodill is even more laggy and is the same old same old gameplay wise. Havent gone back to IC yet but I hear its more playable than Cyrodill so theres that.

Cyrodiil primetime is busted in the main campaign and really laggy. Bgs though have been fun since you can't group queue for them anymore. A lot of people are tankier now though with insane damage and stam necros are king right now.

Skills often take 5-6 button presses to go off. Even if they do go off, they often have zero effect due to positional desync. Can't bar swap or break free much of the time. Rubberbanding is common. Blacked out skill bars are common. Gap closers often don't work or have any effect.

This isn't even in prime-time or "high-intensity" scenarios. Try to solo a resource and you will experience this.

I would NOT recommend coming back unless you are a masochist.

I wouldn't start subbing ESO+ right away if you did come back. ESO+ doesn't fix the problems the game has. Instead, spend that money from not subbing, on [snip]. You'll need them.....

Skills don’t work, resource bugs, there’s too many to list that came with the performance update....to fix performance

If BGs are your thing, you can still have a lot of fun. The performance issues are primarily in Cyrodiil. Solo que has leveled the playing field a bit, and there are plenty of players.

The rewards are still blah, but you'll get a good number of transmute crystals and you can spend the AP at the golden vendor.

on NA you currently fight with 2 issues, extreme high amount of players because of corona causing lag, and a "skills/attacks not firing" bug since an update 3 weeks ago.

On EU, you just have the bug, but not many players, so less lag.

The bug however is an extreme showstopper, I attach a video showing it twice in a delve. I encounter it very often, fighting worldbosses, in delves, on overland enemies like terrorbirds, and in Cyrodiil (PVP).

It is currently the worst performance I encountered in the 2 years I play, there was another bug less strong shortly before elsweyr was released (mainly happening in delves, was fixed after some weeks).

Oh boy.

Sooo, yeah, Cyrodiil isn't feeling all too well at the moment, it's a bit sickly. If you don't play on the One X, then it's worse than it could be. My advice is to stay away from PvP for the next couple months unless you just want to waste time. If you play the game just for the PvP, then, oh well.

I would say don't return until ZoS invests a significant amount of time, effort and energy to fix what is currently broken in code, and spends the money required to update and add to the current mega-server which honestly doesn't seem like a mega server at all.

Play cause you want to. Is some negativity really gonna stop you. I mainly Pve and Don't have the issues people speak of. Seems to be mainly hard core end gamer issues. I am sure they want to fix everything but the real issue is they don't know how

Depending why you left to start? But I have been day 1 never stopped playing on Xbox NA and I just switched to PC because the game is unplayable unless you are running around full zerg and taking empty keeps you won't feel anything since you don't even have to really do anything at all. But solo play you will feel the lag, skills not working and bugs bugs bugs currently this is the worst the games been in the since of performance. But if you enjoy crafting, lore, and none endgame pve action its really great

If you hate games with good performance this is the best time to come. It is terrible on pc, I cant imagine consoles.

Whats crazy is with me coming to PC from console its a huge difference like I'm so glad I'm playing at 60+ fps now as compared to 5-15 on console and my ping is 40-100 now as well. From switching it feels like leaving a broken game to a game that has zero issues and I love it

BGs is gonna be the best performance for pvp on consoles atm since there's no extra additional add-ons associated with CP and you go down from a large map to a small map and at max 12 ppl in the arena "especially since they fixed the glitch that made you able to bring a full 24 man group in" instead of having hundreds of players on a map. But there is no reward for playing in BGs there is no gear that is used for endgame purposes for pvp or pve so OP nothing has changed in the since of going in there to farm sets. But the same can be said for cyrodiil as well but I feel like they lost the reward after they took away the chance for the top % to receive Master weapons for end of campaign rewards years ago.

Snipe desync is a problem, but it has always been a problem. The performance issues people reference these days are a problem that has worsened significantly over the last few months. Thankfully, BGs have not degraded in the same way over that time.

No. Can't say that it is. Combat is the worst it's ever been. It's barely tolerable if you're doing open world PVE, but any high traffic areas are the worst. I'd certainly advise against supporting ZOS until these problems are meaningfully addressed.

Cyrodiil is bad, but I recently leveled undaunted by grinding pledges on my Xbox1X, and honestly, there was never a performance problem. I can't speak knowledgeably about performance in Trials, but the vast majority of PvE is fine.

Cyrodiil is pretty bad. I have both a first gen and Xbox one x. Cyrodiil does perform “better” on the Xbox one x, but you’ll still experience positional desyncs, skills not firing, rubberbands, and load screens. I find it more frequent on my first gen to the point it is unplayable.

Hm, at the end of the day I might just give it a shot anyway. I've been really itching for ESO and I don't want to build a PC right this moment with new tech coming later this year in the near future. How much of leveling can I get away with not doing in Cyrodiil? I guess most of the problems are around zones being overpopulated/server-side issues, not so much client performance?

The most efficient leveling doesn't involve Cyro, you'll be fine.

If you're mostly just exploring and doing casual PvE content, your gameplay experience should be just fine.
