Auto-update Addons

Hey guys !
Is there a way to auto-update all of our addons whenever there's a new ESO Chapter released and some of them become outdated ?
So far, I've been checking them one by one on ESOUI to see if there was a new version, and re-downloading them one by one, but it's a bit painful.
I seem to remember somethig about Curse, or Minion, but after a bit of research about that all I found was outdated articles & posts...
Any help would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks !

    Use Minion. https://minion.mmoui.com/
It will automatically update all your addons whenever there is a new version available.

Yes, use Minion. You can even have it in auto update each day, or as you chose.

Ah excellent, thanks a lot guys !
While I install it, one last question : is it compatible with all the Addons I've already installed from ESOUI, or will I have to re-download them from a Minion-specific website or something ?

Minion uses ESOUI. Assuming you have the addons in the proper folder, and correctly tag Minion where to look, I would imagine it will be transparent.

biggest issue you will have is that you need to remember to launch minion as admin

Yes, I just installed it, it worked perfectly well and updated all my Addons !
This is absolutely amazing, why didn't I do that earlier ? (apart from the fact that I'm unbelievably dumb ^^)

What amazes me is that it's free, I would actually have liked to give the dev a little something for all the time and effort it's gonna save me in the future, but I don't even see any way to do that ?

Ah I went ingame and there's just a small problem : since it updated my Addons, I don't see any Skyshards or Lorebooks on my map anymore :o

I looked at my Addons settings ingame and those two Addons (Skyshards & Lorebooks) are now displayed in red, and it says "Dependency" next to them.
And the LibGPS Library (I guess that's the one those two Addons use) is also red and says "Dependency".

Those aren't the Addons I use the most, but still ... help ! :p

You can also download the various libraries via Minion... they don’t get automatically downloaded with the add on though.

Additionally, some libraries don’t get updated as quickly as add ons, so you might have to enable ‘Use out of date add ons’ for them to work.

    Good luck. Have fun

Minion doesn't 'auto' update. (at least I have not found that command) You just pop it up occasionally and it shows what add-ons have an update, and you click on the install.

One thing more I recently found. I suddenly lost my sky shards and a couple other things. When I checked what happened, I found that LibGPS now had a dependency that it did not have before. I had to install two new libraries that had not been required in the past.

    Now it all works fine

Well, that's exactly my problem too !
Which Libraries did you need to install ?

Go to the add-ons tab inside the game and any add-on that's missing a dependency should be in red, with "dependency" stated as the reason for being disabled. You can click the add-on to see a list of missing dependencies, and install them through Minion.

    Ah, I didn't know that neither !
Thanks everyone, now I won't have to update each Addon one by one everytime there's a new ESO version released !

Yep, to set it to auto-update, click the "gear" icon in the bar above the addon list and click the box next to "Automatic Addon Update".

I don't let anything auto-update so I don't use that, I just run it once a day usually in the morning.

Just a note in case you're not aware: using Minion doesn't guarentee that your addons will never show as out of date in ESO. It can only update addons when the author of the addon creates an updated version, and that doesn't always match with when ESO does updates. Some authors start prepping updates ahead of a new release, some can't do that and some maintain dozens of addons so they have to prioritise. In some cases the addon author may have stopped maintaining it entirely and no one else has taken over, so it will never be updated.

But out of date doesn't necessarily mean not working. I have a few addons on my list which have been out of date for months, or possibly years at this point, but they still work.

My advice is to make sure you keep the 'allow out of date addons' box checked and only disable one if it actually causes problems.

Minion 4 will automatically download dependencies.
Well, that is the plan, when Minion 4 comes out is another matter.

Oh yes, I have lots of so-called "outdated" Addons but which still work great and without which I hardly could play ESO ... actually, it's a good thing they allowed Addons in the first place, like "hide compass", "smart reticle" and things like that, otherwise if I was stuck with the default UI I probably would have given up on the game a long time ago !
