This question is primarily aimed at two sets in particular but here is the question in its entirety:
I ask because since the mythic item sets the crit chance to 0%, I figured that mechanical may be able to bypass such a condition and provide untold levels of damage in certain situations.
- If the wearer of Malacath’s Band of Brutality is wearing Mechanical Acuity and it props on direct damage, will that allow a player to still deal critical damage, but only with the set? And if yes, Should the Mechanical Acuity set be considered a “Rule-breaker” set?

✭Anything that says "guarantee crits" dont crit with this ring equipped. UI shows your crit above 100% when acuity procs but you get no crits. Same for NB cloak and critical charge.
Only rule breaker is, probably due a bug, new Arterial Burst.0 -
Ghnami✭✭✭Actually the new Vamp ability will crit if under 50% hp, but that will likely be fixed. If something says you can't in the game, and something gives you the thing you cant do, you cant do it.
The unfortunate thing about mechanical acuity is that exactly one build uses it well, because in PVP a lot of players can actually survive 100% crit chance because the offensive bonuses of MA actually SUCK. Build a fury or spriggans/clever alchemist/malacath/1pc krag and I nearly guarantee you you'll actually do more damage than if malacath with MA, even if it worked like you thought. The important thing about malacath is that you want as much pen as possible, since each % of resistance left on the target reduces the effective bonus of that item. Onslaught builds or lover mundus is likely required to make use of it.0 -
Skelfish✭✭✭Specifically regarding how Acuity works, it basically sets your crit rating to 100% during the time it procs instead of having some unique effect like Critical Rush.0
