How to get past 20k DPS Stamina Templar

Hello,

I'm relatively new to the game, a few weeks. On the big ice guy dummy i do around 18-20k dps with some light attack weaving.

I followed some guides loosely, Build here: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildData?id=230146

I know I need to work on my light attack weaving and rotation, but is there something glaringly wrong with my gear that if changed would boost my dps up a lot? I don't have access to any trial gear btw. I've heard that dual wield can add a few XXXX to my dps, is that the missing link? I just use 2hand cause it looks cool and for pvp but i will change if that boosts it to 25-30k.

Thanks!

Forgot to mention, my sustain sucks, or at least I don't know how to manage it well that the DPS readings are like 1 min long only, before killing the dummy, I can't kill it without running out of stamina.

You should use Endless Hail instead of Arrow Barrage, as Stamina Templars primary damage source is Jabs, you want longer lasting DOTs so you have more time to spam Jabs. You should also get a different enchant or poisons on your frontbar. And if you do group content you shouldn't use Nighmother's Gaze.

Thanks for the reply! Why a no on nightmothers gaze and the posion?

Practice light attack weaving, and for the sustain part - don't refresh abilities until they are just about through. I improved my numbers significantly, when I didn't spam stuff like crazy, and refreshed Endless Hail/Poison Injection etc. when it was halfway through. Self buffed on a dry old non-trial dummy takes practice to sustain.

You have a infused berserker enchant on your backbar, so there is no point having a second one on your frontbar. So instead you want something that deals damage and the best thing would be ravage health poisons, but since they cost you quite a bit, you can just go with a poison enchant instead.
The major resistance debuffs of Nightmother's Gaze are pretty good for solo play. But in group play those should be provided by the tank anyway, so there is no point in running a five piece set just for that debuff.
Both weapon enchants and major/minor buffs don't stack with themselves.

    I'd suggest the following:

    - Move your 13 point in Tenacity into Mooncalf
    - Weapon enchants share a cooldown. So when one of your Berserker enchants goes into cooldown, the other does too and you get no benefit from enchants at all in that period. I'd switch to Damage Health poisons on the front bar (Fleshfly Larvae + Nightshade + Nirnroot) or use a poison enchant. But never, ever use two of the same enchants on weapons
    - Consider moving some CP into Master-at-Arms. It will buff jabs, which is your main source of damage. I'd recommend maybe moving some out of Piercing, since you've got a Sharpened front bar weapon. I'd get a second opinion on what's the most important thing to focus on (critical damage, penetration, or direct damage) when you're lowish CP.
    - If you're running solo or in groups where you're not sure if you can get Major Fracture from tanks, I'd actually recommend Spriggan's over NMG. Check your Major Fracture uptime on your parses too- what's the %?
    - For parsing, I usually use Lava Foot Soup and Saltrice.
    - Get your Alchemy skills to 10 and get all three points into Medicinal Use asap. That will greatly improve your potion uptime and thus increase your DPS
    - Are you using Weapon Power Potions? if not, use those (Blessed Thistle + Dragonthorn + Water Hyacinth; I know there are other combos but I can't remember what they are). Before you start your parse, drink one and then wait 20 seconds. Make sure one is always up when you parse- drink another as soon as one runs out
    - Gold out your bow. Golding our weapons is really important. In order of importance, weapons > armor > jewelry in terms of the DPS difference that golding out makes
    - Other sets to consider as a NMG replacement (obviously you'll want a trial set eventually, but assuming you're not there yet): good ol Hunding's Rage is actually a very decent choice, Briarheart, Aegis Caller, and Leviathan are all good choices. For trial sets, if you can get your hands on the Vicious Ophidian set, that'll help your sustain. And obviously you'll eventually want Relequen and Lokke, but I'm sure you knew that.

My best guess, you are not jabbing enough. Jab animation is 1,5 sec, but channeling time is less than 1 sec. If you are a PC player, you can use metronome or GCD addon. This should improve your LA weaving too

Other than that you are missing a lot of stamina enchants on your gear and you could use a different enchant on your axe as others suggested.
