Other games have mythic/orange items as a pay wall though. I’m assuming ESO the trade off is still time for the best items though right?

It is technically a paywall here too, @Everest_Lionheart.
Antiquities is locked behind the Greymoor chapter.
However, with the new content in addition to Antiquities, it's looking like a worthwhile Chapter to have (IMO).
(Ignoring the base game and combat changes, here, and grading strictly on content.)

@Taleof2Cities
Point taken. I keep forgetting I preordered Greymoor. Other games I’ve played I’ve literally had to buy items from the in game store in order to upgrade anything and some of those items are a pure drop system where you are at the mercy of RNGesus. So pay money, maybe get item shards, pay more money, get a few more item shards, pay even more money, Maybe finally get enough shards or maybe pay again(and again)
Repeat for 20 other items...
So here pay for Greymoor, get items after trading your time. Honestly after years of micro transactions this game is a breath of fresh air.
