With the current alterations coming up with Graymoor to vampires along with many other tweeks and changes over the years weather be it to mage shields, lowering bash damage or what ever theres been so many i lost count (some call it nerfing some call it leveling the playing field) , i was wondering if it would be best if you just laid down a set of rules like your set for these very forums of how you would like us to play.

"Saucer of milk for table two" meow, full of salty tears.

How ZOS wants you to play:

Step 1: enjoy ESO enough to spend money on it as you experience tons of different content.
Step 2: as you start to get bored with ESO, keep you engaged with a series of FOMO events. Continue spending money.
Step 3: you've done all the content a bunch of times and its boring? Oh, wait, ZOS "rebalanced" your class/skills/gear! Now you'll regrind until you are as good as you used to be so you can run the same, content you used to run. Please continue spending money.
Step 4: repeat step 3 until you realize this isn't fun, hasn't been fun for some time now, and you aren't following the meta grind anymore. This phase is usually lengthy, as ZOS hopes enough players continue spending money despite their constant griping about changes.
Step 5: either you chill out and decide to have fun in ESO ignoring both FOMO and the meta grind...or you quit.

ZOS' goal is to extend that period between "I love ESO!" and "I'm bored/unhappy so I quit!" that happens with any game in the hopes that during step 2-4 their players continue spending money. Horizontal progression is their main method for keeping players busy each update, and boy it works.

Good point, I'd love to hear their vision of how cyrodiil in particular should play, with notes for each class (and their different build subtypes) and what they think each should be doing. Because they seem to be wrecking everything for my main toon (stam vamp nb). Wardens and Necro seem top of the pile right now, other classes have been nerfed to make them superior, which feels like pay to win.

Step 5 is a pretty sweet spot. I quit caring about regrinding a while ago and I have a PVP guild I'm happy with, so I pretty much chill and only play the parts of ESO I enjoy. Having enough gold to buy any event rewards I miss from guild stores does help :)

Figuring out how YOU want to play it is part of any complex game.

Also, things change, that is the only constant in the universe.
    Adapt. I know I will...

If you look at the history of science, you will find that many of the "constants" people had been clinging to have been proven less then constant by later findings. Maybe the most famous example is Einstein and his equations proving that even "time" is not nearly as constant as people had thought it was before him...

So... unless someone is omniscient, they cannot say how many constants there are. We assume some things are constants... and so far all examined evidence might support that assumption... but we really cannot say what the future may bring, and if in a century we might not learn something new that chucks a "constant" out of the list.

Therefore I would not bet anything on the number of "constants" in the universe... but that things change (both the things themselves, and our perception and understanding of them), THAT always remains the same as long as there is time flowing through the universe. ;)

A non constant time flowing through the universe.

Also to state things change and that will always remain the same is a contradiction or is that a non-contradiction, i dont know typing this *** in to google is giving me a headache

Step 5 is a pretty sweet spot.

And it's fairly easy for Step 5 to be the default step right when you come to a game, if you realize that all the games in a genre these days run pretty much the same course. Which is backed-up by reading multiple gaming forums: everybody, regardless of the game, complains about the same exact stuff, has the same in-fighting within the playerbase, and hurls the same accusations and insults at the particular gaming company running whichever game and forum you happen to be on at the time.

It becomes even easier to reach Step 5 with persistent online games when you accept that no matter what happens, one day it's all just going to disappear. The fruits of all of your time and effort, and anything you spent money on (that isn't a physical collectible) just... *poof*... ceases to exist.

Might as well just chill and find a way to enjoy the ride while it lasts.
Or don't, and move on to something else that will also one day vanish.
