Which did you enjoy more Northern or Southern Elsweyr?

I didn’t feel like making a pool for this*

Anyway, for me Southern Elsweyr is much more enjoyable. Better environment and land scape ( no giant cliff), quests are more interesting ( dragon alliance was a nice touch), and the characters were more interesting to me.

I enjoyed them equally, though I don't like escarpments (Cliffs) that don't have a feature. For example, in the Black Company book (author Glen Cook) the Escarpment had a defending force up top, boiling those climbing it, and other nasties. Make me work for it. Dodging single lizards , wolves, cats, or wasps gets boring.

    Northern Elweyr.

Mainly because (for me) the eso client makes my computer go nuts when I am in Southern Elsweyr. I believe I would really like it a lot, but I have to be particularly careful whenever I port there. (And I think muttering “Please work” as I port is not hurting things.)

But Southern Elsweyr looks great and the story line was interesting, but that client though...

    Southern by a mile

Better design in terms of zone layout of weyshrines and dragons

    Better story

    Better gear

Better dragons (the Northern ones really were garbage)

The only losing point is it doesn’t have a proper crafting hub

Northern Elsweyr really is bad in comparison.

Either is fine but, story-wise, I couldn't get on with Southern Elsweyr. Sai Sahan is such a boring, flimsy, two-dimensional character that a lot of the story was choresome. I also didn't like the little Khajiit bloke who was, at best, intensely irritating. Abnur Tharn did manage to rescue proceedings somewhat and I was really glad to see the return of Khamira, who I loved.

I don't think that spoils anything, does it?

The way he treats Abnur Tharn calling him an old man makes him come across as very arrogant as well.

Northern for sure. I cannot navigate the Southern part for anything. And nothing there calls me. Would do more dragons even in the North if they were easier to find.

Southern Elsweyr has fewer side quests that are good, and overall seems like a smaller zone with less content. However, I think it looks cooler overall (northern elsewyr is kinda boring, but the canyons and the southern side of northern elsewyr look great). Southern elsewyr though looks fantastic everywhere. It really has that rocky/jungle look....it's pretty unique. Although the capital of northern elsewyr is terrific.

And the southern elsewyr main quest, to me, has better acting from the characters. I like Sai Sahan, but I really like that pirate captain khajit. That guy is a great voice actor.

If I had to buy one to play for the first time, Northern Elsewyr is more bang for the buck. But Southern Elsewyr to me is more enjoyable for the smaller amount of content.

    Southern Elsweyr for me. :)

Perhaps because it was easier to traverse and the mood seemed to be a nice vibe.

Southern Elsweyr for the layout, dragons, and aesthetics. I also really love the paint brush memento but if there is one thing I hate about Southern Elsweyr its the fact after completing the main quest the General's daughter is always sitting their playing that instrument, and of course the same 2 NPCs always talking about the Dragonguard celebration. Gives me flashbacks of Fallout 4 when the NPC's in the Institute wouldn't shut up about Libertalia....

IMHO both should have been included in the chapter called 'Elsweyr' instead of splitting them up as a cash grab.

Abnur Tharn has insulted both him and Lyris and his feelings for her on numerous occasions. He finally gives him a taste of his own medicine and he's the arrogant one? Lol. Sorry but Abnur Tharn has earned the malice and distrust he receives.

Well, maybe. That would be a massive zone, and leave little for the 4Q. What they should have done is make the North and South Elsweyr border with no gap between them and extended Southern Elsweyr all the way to Grahtwood. Southern Elsweyr is where they really need to spend the extra money. Either that, or they should have extended Northern Elsweyr further south to meet with the northern border of Southern Elsweyr better. How they arrived at the size and shape of Southern Elsweyr must have been very interesting to watch.

Now, there is a gap between them that will never be filled because it is too small, and we will never see Corinthe and Torval.

Northen Elsweyr for more quests and the large map.

Really forcing myself to finish Southern Elsweyr since it takes a while for the next DLC to come out.

Unfortunately the trailer for Southern spoiled the storyline (not to mention the twitch show). So its been a struggle to finish though I'm a big fan of Elderscrolls. The side quests were kinda dull but everything looks very pretty! The cute little outfits for the Alfiq and squeaky voices. Flippin sweet.

Still have faith for the next DLC to give a Wrothgar feel. With options for how the story can change and not the forced replys for any of my characters like in Sourthern.

To be fair, been kinda disappointed that Sind and Tand never reappeared but I set the bar too high.

Northern. More varied scenery, well balanced zone quest and, above all for me, less purring kitten.

I also find Sai Sahan dull and uninspiring as a char leader. Abnur Tharn is caustic and irritating, but at least he manages to show some wit. Sai (and, sad to say Lyris too) is sanctimonious and perpetually ridden by his own past.

If tropical jungle is what you want, Murkmire, with is oppressive overgrown vegetation and the ever lurking dangers is unparalleled, IMO

The lay of the land of the Northern Elsweyr map drives me mad, i find myself either trying to get around large mountain faces or trying to traverse down into deep ravines (which is a pain when hunting dragons) also for a large map it has to few wayshrines (6) compared to somewhere like Craglorn (11) , tho story content on both have been Great tho.

As a player who have played all 5 TES for thousand of hours each, I was eager to see Elsweyr in modern engines. I think, in the end of the day, both have cons and pros: I like both stories (Imperial Tharn as vilain like the classics), lot of lore references (Merethic and First Era), first time seing all kinds of Khajiits, etc. Though I still have some issues accepting the return of dragons (which it wasn't mentioned in nowhere before) and a Vestige Necromancer.

The strong side of both areas IMO are the sidequests (very creative and fun), visuals and the new (Khamira, Za'ji, Caska, Aeliah) and recurring characters (Abnur Tharn, Sai Sahan and Cadwell). I was expecting less dragons and more dunes/oasis, elephants and Razum Dar in Northern Elsewyer; more Ohms, Mane (I'd like to see Shazah again in different contexts) and forests in the south.

About the same for me....I disliked both. Uninspired stories and re-skins taking place in a couple of oversized litter boxes. Even with "Dragons! In your homeland!" it's still pretty blah. Only reason i return is for a crafting survey, writ, or searching out a guild trader. Nothing about overdressed cats with breasts and an irritating dialect feels appealing.

Both were pretty fancy, but I enjoyed Northern Elsweyr more since I really liked the stitches area of the map. I thought it was pretty cool to have that massive canyon carving through it.

Really i find murkmire the weakest out of all the dlc, but i can't complain they gave that away for free, the whole argonian thing is all a bit dull.
