you didn't open the package and all you found was a pack of chips and a cola?

I have 3 apex in game all ones I wanted. My secret is to never go fro a crate with only 1 radiant apex I like or even 2. It has to be all 3 that way I won’t be disappointed. My average cost per radiant apex is a about 700 which is still pricey by 40k standards but not unheard of. Many in the 40k community would never pay forgeworld prices and think it’s insane so it’s all a matter of perspective.
The crates have only ever been worth it if you want a bunch of random items from that selections, they're never worth buying to try and get a specific item.
Also for those who find Faunter's Crown Crates site useful, just wanted to say he does have a Patreon to help fund the costs of the site.

I play this game when I'm out of sorts and depressed. (Came back because of job loss and CV.)
I can't imagine investing a serious amount of money into it. That would make me feel even worse about myself. "Not only am I wasting my time, but I'm wasting my money."

well, as a titan owner myself, i'd say those things will never just vanish. either they are displayed or sold, if you never use them again. all the in game stuff will be lost at some point, though. which is, in my eyes, a huge difference in value.

As someone who buys crown crates with gold, its not that different than buying furniture or mounts, its just a tad more costly because the only thing you're guranteed is gems. So I calculate how many gems I would get if I got nothing I wanted (usually 100 per 15 pack) and then take that number and find out how many gems it would cost to buy that item.
Crown gifting is one of the few things I spend gold on anymore so its the last good gold sink for players like me with 10M+ gold.
