Finally i have gotten around finishing Northern Elsweyr and moved to Southern. I really like the look of the place. Southern Elsweyr and Murkmire are my favourite zones, they look and feel really unique, like outer worldly. The quests i have done so far in Southern Elsweyr have been fun and im looking forward to finish main quest.

I am a big fan too... not so fond of the desert like look of NE, but the South is beautifull and lush.
And so the Elder Scrolls foretold. You will be shy, and I will be bold.

It does have the second greatest NPC of all time, Clan Mother Tadali. The greatest of course being Sereyne.

I think its pretty cool, but I might have NEVER gone to Murkmire without the event a couple months ago. And I might never again, definitely not a fan of Argonian marshes

I love deserts in this game! It's a biome this engine is pretty good at (unlike dense forest), and looks fantastic with a good view distance mod like Daybreak

Southern Elsweyr is also absolutely gorgeous. But I was disappointed that they didn't create unique architecture for Senchal, and mostly copy/pasted Rimmen's. That was my main issue with Summerset's cities too, and it looks like it will just be ESO's "thing". We'll just have to accept it as a time limitation of new zones every six months, and remember that if these provinces ever show up in a single player game then each city will look unique then

I like Murkmire. This place needed a good lowlands swamp, and it delivers!

I really appreciated the design of both Elsweyrian zones. The elevation, the vegetation, how believable the cities and culture were. Really good design, and your pics are awesome!

I agree. Southern Elsweyr and Murkmire are places that captured my heart. When I just want to hang out in ESO with no purpose, I go to one of these places. I toggle walk and just roam around enjoying the scenery and atmosphere. I avoid killing any mobs, I don't collect mats. I just walk... look around... it seems I can even feel the earthy smell of the Murkmire swamp or feel warm Elsweyr breeze on my face.

@AngryOldMan I quite agree about both Murkmire and S Elsweyr. I think you'll really like the latter part of the quest line there. Enjoy! :)

As someone from South East Asia, I have noticed that the Elsweyr and Murkmire zones resemble the atmosphere here in our region. Architecture in Elsweyr is "Ankor Wat"-style and Murkmire is very pacific.

    Just sharing. :)

I agree, they outdid themselves with the Elsweyr regions, both in atmosphere and writing.

I never spent much thought about the Khajiit, one way or other (stealthy, thieving cat-people, ok), but starting with their own questline in Reaper's March I was intrigued, and Elsweyr did add so much to that ! Now they are one of my two favourite cultures of ESO/TES (the other being the Imperials, as in Morrowind or Oblivion, ESO is a really bad time for them).

And the design of Elsweyr, both natural and cultural is fantastic ! It's detailed, diverse, and beautiful. And it really makes the most, and something unique, out of its real-world South-East-Asia/India inspirations !

So I can only agree with your travel advice, though I would recommend it for Elsweyr in general, not just the south !

(Except dragons. Dragons in TES/ESO for me are boring, and somewhat superfluous. But thankfully they only appear in certain spots, and the main quest(s) are written so well, with such great NPCs, that the dragons don't really matter.)

The view across the valley, looking east to Senchal is simply gorgeous. It is my favorite view in the game.

And probably my second favorite quest is there: the one at the Forsaken Citadel. (Ftr, the gay couple near Woidhearth is #1. Hands down. Tears me up every time. 3rd is Skooma Cat in N. Elsweyr)

Yeah I thought about that as well - especially ancient towers reminded me of ancient bali temples.

i like it too specially the dragon lair but i prefer northern Elsweyr - my choice for shrine, crafting, bank and merchant actually... its peaceful, its dynamic, its mix of pastures with desert and a big variety of enemy npc... not to mention 2 complex dungeons to farm money and armor ((although i have a soft spot for the beauty of summerset and its grandious architecture)

Dont mention Tribute, Fishing or PVP !!!

Preferred the more rugged Northern zone personally but one of their better DLC. Favourite DLC so far is still Orsinium but I haven't finished Summerset yet.

I think I would have loved it, but my game client freaks out whenever I go there. I have to be very careful or my whole computer system throws me to a login screen.

A really great looking zone, with an interesting story line, undermined by the eso client.
