I got the one box stuck in a spot I absolutely could not move it from. I had to reset the entire puzzle to fix it. It is.. beyond aggravating. I am trying not to get upset, but I screwed this up and aaaagh! I wanna throw my destro staff across the temple.
I already screwed it over for my main character. For future reference, is there any other way to move a box back a few paces, instead of having to reset it all the way back to the start? (And, not knowing which box it is, you have a 50/50 chance of picking the wrong Box Reset synergy. I failed that 1/2 chance..)
On the plus side...... I kind of trapped the Khajiit lady inside?? made for a funny snapshot!
EDIT: also, I'm having trouble when it gets 'stuck', as I am, at several times and points, not able to attack/move it at all.
EDIT #2: This quest is just very twitchy, it seems. I keep hearing voice lines that I don't think I should be hearing, as well... oh dear..

✭It is you tho, not meant to be mean, had no issues whatsoever with that quest.
It is like maybe 5-10 minutes when doing first time.

How did you manage to make it so complicated I don't know.
But if the logic behind it is that you can light/heavy attack the box to move only forward, away from you, it is logical no to push it somewhere all the way if you are not sure that it is a right place and you can't push it on the side.
You needed to restart the quest because you put your brain in off mode.

✭✭I didn't have issues with this, but I do remember the blocks being a bit annoying sometimes because one of them got a bit stuck in a door way. Managed to free it quite quickly however.
Just take a step back and come back to it when you're calmer and no doubt you will breeze through it.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭Those blocks are a little wonky. If you get frustrated and hit them rapidly, they can end up in odd places.1 -

✭✭✭✭✭I did this quest on two characters. The first time I did it perfectly, and the second time I managed to do the same thing you did, and the only way I could fix it was by resetting the whole thing. It was very frustrating having to do it all over again.
Yeah, it's a pain. It's kind of an interesting puzzle to do the first time, but it's not something I'd ever want to have to do again.1 -

✭You probably hit it too hard. The harder you hit it the further it goes, hit it too hard at the wrong point and yes you will mess up the entire puzzle and have to reset. It's a training course for one of the DLC dungeons where there's a similar puzzle. And seriously, if you have problems here well, you certainly shouldn't be the one solving the puzzle in the dungeon.1 -

✭Not sure if ZOS fixed it (probably not), but in the past it was possible to move one box halfway through one of the closed gates, getting it stuck and making you unable to complete the quest0 -
kadochka✭✭✭✭✭Thanks for replies.. Yes, I've done the DLC dungeon that involves these blocks. I know light vs heavy attacking makes them move differently; I just pushed it too far and was wondering if there was something I didn't know to pull them, instead of push.
Managed through it, glitchy as it was.. visible/invisible door barriers and randomly-playing voice lines aside, the design of the puzzle is a fun concept.

I pushed a box all the way through a gate that appeared blocked/closed.. I couldn't walk through, but I had no issue shooting the box through, then walking around. Weird.if I could make another character, their name would be Cries-For-Character-Slots. AKA, I need more.
