Are DK's still the 'DOT' class?

Not played in a while and it seems like DK's have had a bit of changes going on.
So with the changes are they still the DOT class or is another better now for DOT style combat?

✭Class DOTs like Burning Embers / Venomous Claws, Engulfing Flames / Noxious Breath, Standard of Might / Shifting Standard, Corrosive Armor, Volatile Armor.
Non-class DOTs like Caltrops, Carve, Rending Slashes, Entropy.
Necros have a passive which boosts all DOT damage by 15%. So while your Rending Slashes and Entopy will hit harder, you won't have access to Burning Embers or Venomous Claws.
Long story short if I already had and was skilled with a DOT DK, I wouldn't reroll a Necro and expect to be too impressed with my performance. If you're interested in starting a new build focused around Bleeds and stuff, roll a Necro.Xbox NA AD / Day 1 ScrubDK / Wood Orc Cuisine Enthusiast2 -

✭Of course, if you're Stam, the bonus to Carve / Rending Slashes / Caltrops from Necro's passives is almost matched by DK's Minor Brutality. Really they are both viable for a DOT build.
StamCro vs StamDK is really close overall in PvP.

Not got Elsweyr yet but probably will which is why I'm interested in knowing the difference.
I've not got a high level DK currently but have played them a fair bit in the past.

Not really, stam wise they're really similar. Some of the StamCro skills are stronger than their StamDK counterparts, but much harder to use and less reliable, so overall, in my opinion, the classes are roughly equivalent for PvP. Many seem to disagree about that, just my opinion as a long time StamDK.
