Maintenance for the week of February 23:
· [COMPLETE] NA megaservers for maintenance – February 23, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 12:00PM EST (17:00 UTC)
· [COMPLETE] EU megaservers for maintenance – February 23, 9:00 UTC (4:00AM EST) - 17:00 UTC (12:00PM EST)
· [COMPLETE] ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – February 23, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 12:00PM EST (17:00 UTC)

So no more real development of the game?

I recently returned from a long hiatus and noticed people selling gear in chat that was around when I played half a decade ago and acting like it was some good gear. So I take it that the game is in maintenance mode where development is reduced to just some new areas with lore but no real Dev work on itemization or level cap raise?

Sadly there is no maintenance mode either, it's more so them treading water but every now and then taking dramatic efforts which put them underwater and then they find something to float on every few months

You will see what you want to see, but there are improvements and new content.

Is the glass half full or half empty?

I say, "Get a smaller glass."
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

There have been plenty of great sets added to the game, but increasing the level cap forcing people to re grind gear would just cause many players to leave the game.

What you're referring to is called horizontal progression, where instead of lazily raising the level cap and introducing sets with higher stat density every patch to give players an artificial carrot to chase, they instead introduce sets with different stat distribution and affects leaving it up to the player to decide what's worth keeping and what's worth chasing based on their build.

They've not only added plenty of new set in the past half decade, they've made adjustments to older sets in an effort to keep them relevant. It's intended design not maintenance mode.

Whether people are happy with the overall direction of the game is another matter, but I just wanted to point out that distinction.

if you are after "set X now improves your Y skill damage to 20000% (up from 14000%)"

or "we've raised item level to 9020 in overland, 10507 in dungeon and up to 15821 in mythic zones"

maybe you should search for it in another places

I think the misunderstanding here is that gear doesn't get outdated in ESO as compared to other MMOs. All content stays relevant and so do all the rewards. Sure, there is some flavor of the month around, but generally nothing ever becomes completely useless and sometimes old sets have a comeback. Elfbane for example is one of the oldest sets in the game and now it is best in slot for magDKs.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

Eso deserves props for the reasons listed above, no content is locked behind daily/weekly time gates and gear stays relevant longer/forever (julianos/hundigs rage anyone?) and it's easy to get.

All over Tamriel, theres a sudden spike in Bosmers getting caught for their crimes. A sad day indeed... #FightForYourRite Give Bosmers back our stealth!

Just the crown store. If it didn't exist, the game would have died a long time ago.
