What class would give the feel of a Monk?

blaineswing_ESO
I saw the Kahjiit monks in the Elsweyr tutorial. I would love for them to be a playable class. Since they are not one already though, what class would give a good feel for them?

Assuming you're not trying to clear too much group based or end game content.

You could take something like a Templar and never equip a weapon. Focus on skills which would buff you damage or look monk like, then just weave in punches.

For best results, you would also need to get some weapon/spell damage from set bonuses and jewelry enchants, since otherwise it will be extremely low if you don't equip any weapon.

Sets like NMA work well for this, since they give a large flat bonus to both WD and SD.

    Every class.

The feeling of "monk" would NOT come from any class, but from getting some new weapon skill line for unarmed combat of sorts. There have been ideas in that direction, like: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/371862/additional-weapon-skill-ideas-mk-ii/p1 ;)
And like I sometimes mention, every class can be made into a "monk" archetype if we had something along those lines.

I mean, it would be like... "Mortal Kombat". A DK mong yelling "Get overhere" while using chains to pull their opponent close just like Scorpion. A Warden monk using ise magic just like Sub-Zero. A Sorceror monk streaking in between martial arts punchings like Rayden. A necromancer monk throwing flaming skulls at their opponents like Quan-chi. A nightblade monk doing a sudden double stab move like Baraka. etc.

On a more generic level... Templar would make for a good monk style build, due to the whole "holy light" shtick, which works pretty well with "monks seeking enlightment" bhuddist-ish theme. But there are other possible takes on the "monk" archetype as well, so...
