I really hope that something like this will happen. The CP removal/rework/replacement is the perfect opportunity to fix the mess that is crafting materials.
It's a bit weird that we in ESO have all this fancy material like "Rubedite" and "Voidstone" that the people in the future (the other games) don't even use/know of, so if we just removed material levels beyond that and turned all Rubedite into Ebony, that would be great. Doesn't mean gear needs to be lvl50 afterwards, but it's just a bit strange that the toughest materials aren't the ones we know from other games.
Brigandine is probably the worst offender of all the materials. Actual brigandine is not a type of leather armor, it's steel plates woven into a fabric. It's a metal armor!

They should NOT remove CP. It is a cool system only found in this game. They should simply expand it with something else.
