Hello I have a few newbie questions to ask.

1. For you to be PvP competitive in terms of gear, I know ppl usually use purple for armor and gold for main weapon.
Now, is it generally recommended to use gold weapon for backbar/secondary weapon too?

2. When you respec all of your skills do you need to level them up again?
For example, does "Crushing shock" level 4 get reset to "Force Shock" level 1? and then you must level it up to make it morph to either "Crushing shock" or "Force pulse"?

3. Lastly, when you buy materials through guildstores, is there anyway to buy less amount than what is listed?
For example, I only need 10 Hemmings but guildstores have it listed as 200 Hemmings. Is there anyway to buy less than 200 from that listing? or am I supposed to find a different listing that sells 10 Hemmings?

Thank you for answering these basic questions lol

    1. Yes. Weaps are the most important gear pieces to gold out, followed by armor and finally jewelry.
    2. No. Force Shock will remain level 4 but Force Pulse will start back at level 1
    3. Nope, gotta find a listing for the amount you want.

    Good questions!

1: Yes, gold out your backbar weapon too. It's weapon/spell damage scales with every damage and healing skill on that bar.

2: It does get set to the level you had it before, so if you already had it leveled and morphed you can immediately switch to the other morph. For example, your level in Force Shock is 2 and you morph it to Crushing Shock. After some time you want to use Force Shock again and morph it to that option. Force Shock will still be level 2, because you won't lose XP.

3: You are supposed to find a different listing. Try using the website of Tamriel Trade Centre if you are having trouble finding items in guild traders. The website shows you which guild traders sell the items you want.

1 - As has been said, gold everything as you are able, starting with the weapons, then the armor pieces (naturally, chest, legs and helmet first, they have the biggest effects) and finally the trinkets (farming the jewelry stuff is -hard- its almost as if those were precios metals... oh. OH! ;) )
Yes, purple is adequate to start with, but if you actually care about winning, you -really- want more then just "adequate"... Of course, that also means you should plan your armor setup from the start. Most people these days go with the easy matchup of two sets and one monster set... dungeon sets are all BoP, so you gotta farm for them, which is why most people prefer to use different options for their weapons, since its so annoying if you run a dungeon hoping for the bow, and get a dozend staves and swords you cannot use nor sell for decent gold... overland sets are easy, since those are BoE, and you can find them in guild stores, and of course crafting your own is the shortest path to a decent set... IF you built up a decent crafting alt that is - or know someone who might craft for you, which is often easy enough if you are in a decent guild...

2 - Yup, skills remain at the level you got them, even if you spec around. But each morph is its own "skill" for that regard. Personally I find respecing too much trouble, only to be done when you find you messed up or they change skills... but that may be because I am lazy, its not really that difficult to respec nor to max a new morph...

3 - Nope, gotta buy it as is. But you CAN sell the extra on your own... still usually easier to find a lot that's your "size"...

Thank you for your answer everyone.
I just got gold weapons crafted for both front and back bar.

    Another newbie question.
Now im trying to enchant these items. (Weapons + armor etc)
Is it a "norm" to put legendary/gold glyphs for all items?
Some glyphs were pretty dang expensive lol

I was gonna buy purp glyphs for now and change to gold glyphs when I can afford to since these can be changed without a cost from my understanding

Once you've been playing for a while, and harvesting and refining for a while, you'll find that gold improvement materials (except for jewelry) are plentiful. It's okay to wait until you've accumulated it naturally, rather than purchasing it all straight out.

Always go gold enchantments on items you plan on keeping. Kutas are not all that expensive as the other gold materials and you can stockpile them for enchanting entire sets. To give you an idea a purple flame enchantment on an infused weapon is about 4,200 damage while a gold one is about 4,800.
