Went around the outlying areas of Bleakrock, Betnikh, Khenarthi, and Stros M'kai with a new toon during this Jubilee event, and where typically there are tons of bots farming, there weren't any in sight; not even in the other areas of Stormhaven, Glenumbra, Bangkorai or Alik'r. Kudos for ZOS and the devs for taking care of the craziness. Ha ha. Good job and keep up the good work. Now, can you all get to the other outlying bugs, crashing and loading screen issues, por favor..

I was also pleasantly surprised when I checked those areas. Usually I'd see at least one bot running around but this time I saw none. They might have quietly improved on this front without us noticing.
Alas, this could be different for other platforms and servers.

PC NA here. There used to be a bot chain in The Rift that I would hunt for sport by dragging them into combat with a dolmen, killing them all even as they respawned over and over again. It has since been removed (last seen in Dec/January), and idk what they did, but great job.

Was wondering if it was just my imagination that there were less bots, glad to see that there really are less. Last time I went to khenarthi's roost I only saw one, and it was lagging so hard it couldn't harvest anything lol. Thank you for actually addressing the bot problem zos!

While I understand the joy from the idea of not having any bots in ESO anymore, I think you're jumping to conclusions...
The bots were always in the game, sometimes less, sometimes more.
I prefer an evidence and perhaps a statement from ZOS that the bots are really gone, until then I don't consider it as problem solved.

I don't see any problem here: 1 (one) GM patrolling locations which usually reported by players and ban all the bots he see. Bot of course, nobody do this, because of "blablabla we have no evidences blablabla we can't just ban people balblabla, just go buy now skin from the crown store blablabla..." Or they won't answer anything, but [snip]

When patches come out, bot accounts are halted because they also need to download the patch.

Furthermore ESO is having a free trial..... it is in ZOS best interest to be vigilant against bots while new players are checking out the game

Then it will go back to normal.

I think botting in general is a little bit better though than it used to be. I only say this because the Camlorn bots have disappeared for awhile. That was a sight to behold lol, 100+ bots farming there on double pet mag sorcs

The Bots propably need a decent Ping to work properly and since they don't get a decent ping, they all just shut down.

Nope, still here. Same BOT in Rivenspire near FelL Fort. Been botting over a year. Same route, same stops, every day. Been reported over 100 times. Was still there today. Bot reporting is useless.

I wonder if the approval of crown selling and gifting is contributing to less bots? No need for the risk of buying gold from gold sellers outside the game, simply buy crown from ZOS then sell them as gifts to guildmates you know for the gold you need.

They should do what some websites do: every time you pick a flower you are shown a matrix of 9 pics and you have to identify the 3 'shop windows' to prove you're not a robot!

Oh no, how immersive - that would not make it fun to pick up stuff in the game world anymore and we would be hurt by it.

Meh. If cross walks are too lore unfriendly, they can have you identify which are Daedric Princes.

That way they can filter out both the bots and the players who don't know lore!

Bots gone seems like a temporary scenario they will be back in some fashion or another as ZoS not that great at policing them.

That said Bots have reduced overtime at least on PC EU and we see that manifest through price increases in certain items.
However, some have moved to buying gold in countries where crowns are cheaper and then exchanging them for gold in-game in the usual manner in the zone chat or via a crown exchange. This gold is then sold in the usual nefarious ways and they pocket the margin.

Botfests ebb and flow.

They do have ways to monitor usage and behavior of logged in characters. So, perhaps they are tightening up with what they do. And even the most dedicated Farmer is going to behave differently than a Bot, so don't worry if Farming is your thing.
