How 4x Blood Altars works ?

Hello,

I need clear answer or some kind of info.

Let say we are a 12 man group with 2 heals and 2 tanks. Tanks and Healers are using blood altar skill.

1.All 4 altars are placed at fight , how do we know which altar will work with lifesteal ?

2. If we eq 4x SoB monster set how this proc ?

3. Same as above but with Earthgore ?

I know healers are using more then altar which can just proc but with tanks ?

Read the in-game text description for the ability. It tells you exactly how it functions. Blood Altar applies a debuff to the enemy. Debuffs do not stack, so having multiples of the same debuff won't help you at all. The only benefit of running more than one is that extra synergies would be available, but that's not worth the lost opportunity cost to run something better.

Only run 1 Blood Altar, at most. You don't even need that if the healer is running Siphon Spirit, which is arguably better (a free to cast single-target version that gives Minor Magsteal as well).

Blood alter is moreso used in pvp and only used by one person. It’s the best way to proc the gossamer major evasion. Magic steal can be applied by a templar with restoring aura.

It’s how one person can apply gossamer to more than 12 people at a time.

For PvE maybe blood alter with Ele drain would work well.

As has been pointed out, debuffs, and buffs, of the same name do not stack. So the minor lifesteal from multiple Blood Alters will not stack nor will they stack with minor lifesteal from other sources such as Staff Siphon or Warden's Leeching Vines.

I see well good to know.

Which means 2x Heal and 1x Tank with altar can play with SoB to boost group.

I think one of them will override others. maybe last casted one. Maybe another variable makes one of them the main blood altar. You should try it.

Did you read his post? He dont want to get 4x effect of blood altar. He dont want to get more healing. He wants to proc sets with healing other.

Except multiple people couldn't reliably proc sets that heal others using a debuff mechanic that bottlenecks the heals to one caster. The answer remains the same: in an organized group, only one person should be using Minor Lifesteal in any form. Anybody else would have to use another source of healing if they want sets to work.

It'd work great for a random zerg healer who didn't have somebody else in group doing the same thing. It's not going to work in the context of a 12-man group with 4 people trying to do it simultaneously. It needs to be one guy - preferably the Gossamer guy, since that's such a short-term buff. Everybody else needs to find their own heal if they want to remain effective.

If you’re looking to min-max blood alter for healing then whomever has the most %heal modifier will be the most and it’d be optimal for that one person to do it, lifesteal only scales with % healing modifiers and crit.

If you’re thinking from a pvp perspective then whomever has gossamer should be the only one. The gossamer major evasion is hard to spread but it works awesome with blood alter.

If there are multiple overlapping buffs people are trying to apply in say pvp? Then go with gossamer, I can’t think of a set that synergizes better with the ability.

Maybe you’re thinking of a different setting, but whenever I hear blood alter I think gossamer. They go together like bread and butter.

I’ve also been wondering this. We usually just run 1 Altar in trials so that we know the tank using it can proc Symphony on the group. However, I’ve been in groups that use 2 Altars so that both tanks have access to the heal synergy, and Symphony appears to work from both tanks (but maybe procs fewer times?). It’s definitely unclear how the Minor Lifesteal is prioritized, if it’s from most recent cast or just random. I don’t think the synergy heal counts as originating from the one who casts Altar, I think it’s considered a self-heal from whoever synergizes.

Interested in hearing if anyone has a concrete answer here. Until then we’ll stick with 1 Altar (usually from off-tank) and skills like Vigor or Cinder Storm on the main tank.
