Imperial City, and Cyrodiil

Cyrodiil has massive potential, the land is vast and can be prosperous. Perhaps it needs a new vision.

A few things I would like to see happen in Cyrodiil, and please share what interest you as well!

Keep changes. - I would love to see certain keeps get molded to fit building styles from that faction. It would be extremely interesting to siege and defend an orc stronghold. A Wood-elf Tree-fort, and so on.

PVE/PVP in Cyrodiil. - There are instanced dungeons, but what I would love to see are massive bosses. Molag Bal or Dragons, for example, for which factions can fight to control the killing of the massive boss, and be rewarded highly for capturing that kill. This would spread out players from the keeps more, and it would bring more players into the war front. I always loved the Molag Bal fight in IC, especially when another faction could potentially come through and wipe you out and steal the kill. It was exciting. Unfortunately IC as it is today, will not be making a come-back it seems.

Lastly I want to see Imperial City get improved upon, and moved forward with new content/expansion. Rebuild the bridges for new amazing bridge fights. Force the faction who has an Emperor to actually defend the city to keep emperor-ship. I think, with nothing to back it up, but I think the more we can actually spread out players in Cyrodiil, and spread out fights, the better the performance will be. Of course we will always have massive battles at Chalman to the end of time and cause the servers to decay at a higher rate, but some of these changes just might help.

Please keep in mind that I log in every day to Cyrodiil. I enjoy PVE aspects of the game as well, but I am fully a PVP player of ESO.

I really like these idea's
It is especially nice to see suggestions towards cyrodiil other than, level it and make it another PVE zone
I miss cyrodiil and am getting very bored of battlegrounds...

If they could fix it and then start investing a bit more into it, that would be amazing!

I would especially enjoy smashing a giant tree to get the wood elves inside or smash whatever *** hole the argonians live in

Spawning bosses that award faction buff's is also a very interesting idea!

Let's be honest, Imperial City really only has one purpose and that is TelVar farming. The place is just toxic at times, especially if you want to hunt some bosses. So while I think adding some changes to here would be fun, it's not going to change the culture around IC.

The new vision I want is Cyrodiil's performance issues fixed.

    1. Cyrodiil is an Imperial territory. While the idea of assaulting forts built by the various factions is interesting, practically speaking the factions can't manage to hold onto the territory long enough to build such structures. I think this idea would be well suited to a different PVP mode, such as a siege oriented battleground or a new zone...assuming ZOS fixed performance enough that there was demand for it.

    2. I'm generally not a fan of adding more PVE into a PVP zone. Especially not when PVP as it is suffers from performance issues. We don't really need to add PVE fights balanced for the population of Cyrodiil on top of them. While the PVE fights might possibly spread players out, my suspicion is that, like Volendrung, it would actually have the opposite effect. Its a Catch-22. Any fight worthwhile enough to attract players is going to pull in enough players to cause performance issues, while fights that aren't worthwhile aren't going to spread out enough players to make a difference.

    3. IC as a Cyrodiil objective has potential, similar to adding new outposts or towns. On the other hand, you aren't clear what you intend to do with the city as it currently exists. Given that ZOS is giving it away for free, I really don't expect to see any major changes to IC.

IC being completely separated from Cyrodiil was a fantastic change. It definitely could use improvements, but it shouldn't be connected to Cyrodiil.

    Favorite Foods and Potions

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

In respect to Cyrodil, I don't think adding world bosses would have much effect on player concentrations.

I think what they need to do is make keeps easier for solo or small groups of players to capture. Because the reason players are concentrated in Cyrodil (instead of spread about all over) is because you have to be in a group to reasonably capture keeps and this causes players to group up and zerg.

what do you mean by high reward? it cant be bonus to a campaign score because its illogical to win pvp campaign by pve activities so will it be just another junk set? i guess it would only add more whining inadequate pvers who will go into pvp area to do pve achievements and quests.

ps ic is fine as it is

You are looking for solutions to a problem that does not even exist. The story is not going to progress. ZOS did not ever mention any plans to progress the story. In any zone, and especially not in a zone which is a part of the first ever DLC and is now given away for free.

It is certainly time both PvP zones were shown some investment and love. Let's not forget it was Cyrodiil and PvP that kept the whole game above water at launch when the rest of the game was struggling.

Obviously the all focus and investment recently is PvE orientated, but I don't think anyone could argue the fact that without the PvP playerbase, it's unlikely this game would have made it as far as Morrowind.

Cyrodiil and the Imperial City deserve better than this. A lot better.

Dumb idea. Hammer redux. Half the server flocks to that one location and performance goes through the floor.

Meh. Half the time it's poor bombers who try to compensate [snip] by bombing people as they try to loot. Hardly stealing a kill.

The keeps aren't supposed to reflect other races and it'd be a lot of work for no pay off.

You would just get people to congregate to other spots instead of keeps which are the main objectives of Cyrodiil. It'd just devolve into zerg vs zerg.

I think adding in the Imperial island overland would be a fantastic idea! You could fill it with tons of quests about helping the citizens and the main quest could be faction related.
