So my friend over a week ago received a good ol' social ban with no explanation for why and how long this lasts.
And after searching the forum, we are likely to never know.

He made a ticket in this section trying to get help, yet the thread was moved and never responded to, so I shall try on his behalf.

Dear ZoS, he sent in a ticket about the situation around a week ago, 5 days ago and still not a single word.

His ticket number thingie is 200401-003547

This has ruined a week of gameplay for him as he have been unable to partake in our major RP events and other activites, can you PELASE take a look?

    This is honestly unreal.
We get that there is a long waiting time, but over half a month? For him to still be waiting on an agent about something which is making the game impossible for him to fully enjoy and even more, it's an absolute waste of his money considering eso+?

    Please.

Well, my Friend and Co-Lead has also a social ban for days already...

This is real bad, how is a Guild supposed to function if a Lead has a random ban and noone that answers him for days?

Please, its hard enough to lead tradeguilds as it is.

Hi @SofiDesune, @Cani, we've looked into these tickets and can confirm both tickets are in the right place. A support agent will be in touch as soon as possible.

We are still experiencing high ticket volume and as a result wait times may be longer.

    Thank you for understanding.

@ZOS_Chiroptera well thats fine, i totally understand that its alot atm, but this issue should REALLY be fast tracked, since there is a certain possibility that some GMs cannot make bids, which has an incredible impact for an issue that is resolved within minutes.

Those socialbans cripple everything that a tradeguild GM does, and he literally cannot do anything about it..

I'm the aforementioned friend. Has been 16 days now since I originally submitted my ticket. Have narrowed down the likely cause of the ban, and it is rather baffling that it even happened. Not wholly sure if I'm allowed to discuss what it was for, but given how trivial it is... yeah.

As far as I can tell, it was flagged up by an automated system (As someone in a different thread mentioned when I thought it was just a bug with my social features) that gave the ban out on the spot - an indefinite social ban that requires a GM to manually unlock.

As is pretty apparent already, I am a roleplayer, and so a social ban is particularly hard on me given my primary focus for the game. With the current issues, there have been a variety of RP events being held, many of which require a significant amount of foreplanning, sign-ups, and all that. So far, the following has been affected by the ban:
    • Adventure RP event on the 2nd April - Escorting a caravan as part of an event story.
    • Adventure RP event on the 9th April - Venturing into an Argonian Xanmeer and working out traps and puzzles.
    • Adventure RP event on the 12th April - Follow-on from the previous adventure and fighting agents of the Worm Cult as part of event chain grand finale.
    • Casual RP with adventuring group between all of the aforementioned adventures.
    • Nautical travel RP over the week for returning home from the month-long Murkmire adventure.

There are further events which are also under threat of being affected. Including:
    • Monster hunting event in Summerset to be held on the 16th April
    • Social event to celebrate completion of the aforementioned month-long Murkmire adventure
    • Week-long Spring festival to be held in Summerset from the 28th April - 6th May
    • Breton Knights adventure to be held at indeterminate time.

As you can see, that is a fair amount of RP that this social ban has affected/will affect, and all because an automated system was implemented to automatically dish out indefinite bans in an extremely heavy-handed fashion with no warnings and no notification. Assuming there is an automated system doing this, I would argue it is in definite need of tweaking because this particular treatment to a paying customer is simply not acceptable. If I had done something heinous and deserving of a ban, then no worries. It sucks, but it's my own fault. Simple childish banter with a friend (Who also agrees that this ban is silly and wholly unwarranted) in whispers, however? I don't know about others, but I don't see that as sufficient cause for over two weeks of social banning.

Apologies. The monster hunting event is on the 17th, not the 16th April.

    @ZOS_Chiroptera That is fine.

But we were asked days ago to tell one of the admins if nothing had still happened after 24 hours.
    And nothing have happened.
